Learn About The Development Of A Game Of Thrones 2nd Edition LCG
May 5, 2015 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games have now released a teaser trailer for the 2nd Edition of A Game of Thrones: The Card Game. It looks like it has had a fantastic revamp and I can't wait to play this new take on the game...
You Win Or You Die...
The new game has been completely overhauled to make it both accessible to new players and also more streamlined for existing ones. New factions, a pruning of the amount of keywords, a softening of different mechanics and much more besides has made this more focused on the game rather than wondering about the rules.
One of the best things about this game is that while it is a one versus one experience there is also the possibility of making this a multiplayer game where each of you takes a place on the Small Council of King's Landing and you must not only deal with one other House but many others. It sounds ace!
Another of the new and interesting aspects of the game is the addition of new factions including the Night's Watch and House Tyrell as well as two others which take the number of different forces to eight right from the off. Not only do they have a great amount of playability within their own houses but the amount of deck building potential through alliances has grown.
I'm fairly sure I'm not the only person who wants to just take the Starks and the Night's Watch and make them join forces right?
Do you play the current edition of this game?

Interesting a new edition, shall this be called 2nd? or 3rd?
Love to see the tyrell and the nightwatch in game.
2nd. even though it’s the third version of the game, it’s only the second LCG version.
Great news! I will finally jump into AGOT LCG. One thing that is really interesting for me – is house of Martell represented in the new edition?
AGoT is a great game with lots of depth. 2nd Edition looks ot be an improvement on the current version in almost every way. I can’t wait! To answer your question though: Yes House Martell will be represented in the new Edition, right out of the Core set. The Core set will contain the current six Houses (Stark, Baratheon, Lannister, Targaryen, Greyjoy and Martell) as well as House Tyrell and the Nights Watch. And the rules have changed to make it easier to ally two houses together (the current version makes it very expensive so it doesn’t happen often.) so… Read more »
