Kung Fu Fighting-Miniature Gaming Style!
August 29, 2014 by stvitusdancern
So a new dungeon crawler has popped up on the gaming radar, a game called Dragon Tides by a company called Artistic Justice Games. Yes, this game is on Kickstarter right now and what makes this one stand out is the characters you can play.
Have you ever watched Fists of Fury and thought Bruce Lee was awesome? Well, now you can play him along with his son Brandon and other characters in this interesting twist on the classic dungeon crawler. The few sculpts that they have previewed look pretty good.
Now here is another twist, some how Soda Pop Miniatures and Marrow Productions (Journey: Wrath of the Demons) are involved as stretch goals and when those goals are hit will Artistic Justice Games revel the nature of those relationships. I for one being a huge Bruce Lee and Kung Fu fan will be keeping an eye on this one.
Will you be kicking in on this Kickstarter and doing the Kung Fu Hustle?

Liking those concept sculpts. 🙂
The game might be worth a look just for the sculpts. They would look great a commando unit in any game or modern heroes of any era.
They’ve licensed the Lees, but they’re obviously not using the real names for the other characters so far. Probably licensing. “Goliath” is pretty clearly Boleo Yeung. Train Le is very reminiscent of Jet Li. Ivan Castle… Didier Azoulay (please tell me it’s NOT Van Damme. Throw the game into the sea if it’s supposed to be Van Damme)? Looks like they’ve got a Cynthia Rothrock and a Jim Kelly lined up for later. I’m kind of struggling with Tiger Ip… Looks familiar, but I’m having a hard time placing him. Maybe they a little too much rework on him for… Read more »
TIGER IP is DONNY JEN and IVAN CASTLE is DOLPH LUNDGREN dear sir :D…
But… why? I mean he looks like Dolph Lundgren, sure, but why would Dolph Lundgren be in a product that’s martial arts themed?
Oh. Nevermind. Showdown in Little Tokyo, which coincidentally also starred Brandon Lee. Still think it’s a weird choice.
Probably because he’s a karate champion. Not knowing more than that, google has the answer: Lundgren holds a rank of 3rd dan black belt
in Kyokushin Karate and was European
champion in 1980 and 1981.
Where’s the Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao versions? They’ve got to put them in it. I guess they’ve got a load of legends to choose from. Can’t wait to see more about this one. 🙂
