King Leonidas Leads Wargames Illustrated’s Spartans

Wargames Illustrated has now released the newest addition to their Giants In Miniature collection. Here we have King Leonidas, a perfect leader for your Spartan army.
Know as one of the true warrior kings of history, Leonidas led the Spartans in battle against numerous foes. His most renowned moment was the valiant last stand at The Battle of Thermopylae. 300 Spartan warriors fought alongside 900 Helots, 400 Thebans and 700 Thespians in a brutal fight against the Persian King, Xerxes.
According to historians the combined forces of the Greeks held off somewhere between 70,000 and 300,000 Persian warriors allowing the rest of the allied forces to mobilise to stop Xerxes. The final last stand of the 300 Spartans, although now glamoured in myth and legend, has become an iconic moment in history.
Whether you're looking to play out a movie-based last stand or something more historical this model would be a great choice for people building warbands in games like Mortal Gods and maybe even the skirmish game, SPQR.
I think they've managed to capture the brooding and fearsome look of Leonidas that many of us are familiar with from the films.
What do you think?

I don’t need this but I’m still going to get it as it’s cool as.

That is very nice looking Frank Miller style Leonidas.
700 Thespians?
Now that’s what you call ‘method acting’.
