Kabuki Work On Heating Up Your Halloween
September 3, 2014 by dracs
Kabuki are already getting ready for Halloween next month as they give us a quick tease of their special sexy seasonal mini.
Here we have a rather interesting view of Kabuki's next Pin-Up model, apparently doing the duck face for some reason.
This teaser is most likely the latest WIP of the Hallowitch concept sketch that Kabuki showed off much earlier in the year.
Kabuki's Pin-Up models tend to be stunning sculpts, and this Halloween Witch looks like she'll soon be a welcome addition to the range. I would say that the lips are pursed to a ridiculous extent for my taste, but it will be interesting to see how the finished model looks.
Will you be getting this mini as a Halloween treat?
She has full lips. It looks good.
But maybe someone has little experience with female lips… 😉
She looks good.
Yup – there’s totally no sexism in the tabletop miniature business. No siree…
Also, what does she think she is doing to that poor cat? Perhaps she should pout less and look after her familiar a bit more.
I think she is already far too familiar with that broom
and best not mention the cat or the Mrs Slocombe type jokes will start
Sheesh Happy Halloweener
Just once, for one holiday special, can I get a cute guy, please ? 🙁
Maybe for April Fool’s, or something ?
Good point… if you’re into the pinup thing. They should put out a male/female pair every now and again. Doesn’t Hasslefree have a few?
It does seem only fair; if the industry can produce huge numbers of unnecessarily sexualised images of women, then why not a few buff guys with a similarly… lets just say ‘minimalist’ dress sense?
Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander and all that.
I’m also not fond of the “boobs and duckface” selfie picture… they’re not even showing her full face : objectification at its worst.
Agreed – the shot cutting off the top of the head to offer more coverage of the neckline that barely qualifies as a neckline sends a rather nasty message and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. This seems to have been created by someone who, at least subconsciously, thinks of women (or at least particular subsets of women) less as people than as living sex toys, and that is disturbing to say the least.
Anima tactics has your dudes and for me bring on the ladies
You’re kidding, right ? It’s nowhere near the same scale, numbers, and suggestiveness. Silly little manga boys with no flesh on them, and maybe a bare chested dude every now and then… They’re not made for titillation, or not openly so. I’m not a Yaoi fan…
Ah, I see. What’s wrong with the girl? I paint males all the time, warriors, knights, monks, wizards, space marines, tau…. and this is what I call sexism 😉
Ah yes.
Also those saucy provocative Tau loving polishing their railguns waring nothing but their leg armour. *space wolf whistle*
*lovingLY
Imagine painting Tau leg hair ;0
You mean they don’t shave their legs?! lol
Hey, @vetruviangeek . Haven’t seen you in a while.
This poor girl. That cat scratched off most of her clothes, she lost her bra, she just ate a lemon, and apparently her car is at the shop because she has to commute to work on a broom (bad enough she apparently has to work as a maid or janitor, and her company doesn’t even supply the broom). Whatever game this is for, the setting seems pretty bleak.
Or am I missing the point of the miniature? 🙂
Nope. Nailed it :-).
Blimey, the cat only usually gets the tongue.
and now even that expression sounds so very wrong :/
Let the ‘tongue and pussy’ comments begin.
Gawd I hope not
I WAS trying to be discrete
So hold on . . . maybe the “enhanced features” on these kinds of miniatures are just to make sure they stand out on a tabletop battlefield, like the oversized hands, heads, weapons, and flags we sometimes see on other, more conventional miniatures. When we like it, we call it “heroically proportioned.” When we don’t, we say “those British infantry have cabbage heads.”
So would these be heroically-proportioned lips? Cabbage-breasts?
I’m so confused. 😐
I believe the technical term for heroically proportioned enhanced breasts is ‘Tupperware tits’.
@cpauls1 – that works!
Hi @oriskany. I have been floating about, looking at this and that. I am still enjoying your articles. Top stuff. I agree with your assessment of the message behind this mini – clearly a social commentary on poor employment opportunities for the supernaturally gifted. It was Fantasia that did it, you know. One look at Mickey magically commanding all those brooms, and greedy corporate types saw the opportunity to save a fortune in janitorial expenses. After that, the exploitation began in earnest, and not just of the standard issue witches and mages. Apparently, they even use necromancers to create a… Read more »
Right, @vetruviangeek ? You would think that people with that skill set and educational background (spellcraft requires a lot of reading) would be marketable and employable in today’s higher-end workforce. Just goes to show what happens when you don’t learn computers. 🙁 The website: http://www.warlocks-are-people-too shows further examples: A witch was fired from her position as an administrative assistant because she kept bringing her cat in to work in violation of company guidelines. A warlock was rejected for a key position because “Enochian” does not count as the required second language. A witch was let go when several employees had… Read more »
“and greedy corporate types saw the opportunity to save a fortune in janitorial expenses. ”
It’s hexploitation.
Now see, @chibi , that’s not fair. I try to be funny and have to write half a page. You write two words and its funnier than my whole list. 🙂
@oriskany
Someone should definitely make a satirical site called warlocks are people too. Don’t forget the discrimination against vampires working at bloodbanks simply due to their specific dietary requirements, or the werewolves fired fom customer facing positions because people complained about a persistant wet dog smell when it was raining.
You know, if aphrodite worship actually existed in the modern world in any meaningful and had priestesses as you decribe them, then I would give serious thought to reconsidering my atheism…
@chibi
“It’s hexploitation”
I think that wins the thread right there… 🙂
@vetruviangeek says: “It’s hexploitation . . . I think that wins the thread right there.” Totally agree. 😀 And man, I didn’t know that fictitious, satirical website would actually appear as a viable thread in the BoW thread. Of course it leads nowhere. Automatic formatting, I guess, it saw “www.” and thought it was a site. Yes, priestesses of Aphrodite. I can imagine a main worship area up in the front of the temple, with a sacred “champagne room” in back for “hands on sacrifice” and the like. The “religious tithing” gets a little steep, though, these girls don’t work… Read more »
I’d recognise that plunging neckline anywhere, it’s Vampirella! Every geek of my vintage should remember the red one piece with the white collar that only barely covered enough to get past the Comics Code Authority in the 70s. She was first portrayed in art by Frank Frazetta, and later her look was firmly established by José Gonzales. You might remember the door sized pinup of her with her arm extended and a bat resting on her hand.
Ahhhh, good times!
There’s plunging necklines and there’s, well in this case, there’s mostly just plunging.
Can I get a Cult of Extascy reference?
