Kabuki Call Down Athena To Bless Their Battles

A new character design has appeared from Kabuki Models showing off none other than the Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare herself, Athena.
Kabuki are currently looking for feedback on this character design and personally, I think it looks excellent. Some people are deriding its nudity and the fact that she doesn't appear to be looking at a target, but apart from that this is a pretty nice concept.
All the things we associate with Athena are there, such as her helmet and shield, while the pose is dynamic and full of motion. With just a little tweaking this could be a truly astounding mini.
What changes would you suggest Kabuki make to the design?
There are plenty of Greek goddesses you can model halfnaked, but Athena isn’t one of them. In my mind it doesn’t suit her role or character. I would like to see her wearing more formal robes and some armour. Since the model is already quite high up I think she would look more fierce looking down and pointing the spear down at a supposed enemy.
I dunno, Athena wasn’t above using her looks. Her losing a beauty contest is one of the reasons for the battle of Troy
I have to agree with bucketknight on most of the points Hasslefree has a 40mm ‘Artemis’ figure that is basically nude, (aside from a helmet, shield, sword, boots and a scabbard dangling from a shoulder sling….) The nudity works well in this case… Greek athletes competed unclothed…. Osprey books are chock full of nekkid Greeks at work or training. Ancient Greeks were more willing to be nude, and this should be embraced… Athena should either be fully clothed or in the buff….I would lean more to a subdued victory or defensive pose…. she seems to be smarter than the average bear,… Read more »
I get your point. The nudity on that Artemis model looks more practical than sexy. It works well for that model.
as bucketknight correctly stated; Athena is not often one of the Greek goddesses portrayed half-naked, as such I suggest that she should be portrayed similarly to as shown in the picture above, but with a small portion of armour covering her exposed nipple. (Janet Jackson style)
