Justin, We Found Your Mammooth From Shieldwolf Miniatures
September 18, 2015 by stvitusdancern
Shieldwolf Miniatures has released a preview of a terrific new miniature "Great War Mammooth".
This is one impressive miniature as it not only includes the animal, but also a howdah and many little bits to decorate it to your tastes with things such as an axe, swords a barrel, a crate, a bow, a quiver, 9 shields and leather pack of spears.
It does not come with a base, but they are recommending a 150mm x 150mm scenic base. This miniature is made from resin and is in the 28mm scale and is quite beautiful in a mammoth kind of way. One question begs to be asked, so Justin how does one fit a mammooth into a dungeon?
Do you think this qualifies as a scary dungeon monster?

AAAAARRGGGG We need these for @dignity for his dungeon crawling dwarf to ride.
Amazing model 🙂
Slap on some roller skates so it’s faster downhill and I think we have a winner!
By the looks of it you could almost do a dungeon crawl through the howdah on its back!
I think you would get it in the dungeon by just charging at a weak looking wall, that or it sensibly refuses to enter and just pitches the rider’s into a shaft ;), whilst it goes round the back and finds the proper way in. Would love to see it being the brains of the operation…
Nah, obviously it’s just wandering along, minding its own business when suddenly the ground gives way and it falls into the dungeon and gets trapped there, unable to get out 😉
Really cool model, would be fitting for a norse type army
No, no, no, really down a dungeon totally gotta be Mammoth-Lich

I can only assume that when asked about what monster to face he’d watched Return of The King the day before.
Looks pretty good as a miniature, too…
That looks impressive.
Very cool… but price-wise, ouch. I may get one, but certainly not multiples!
Is the howdah separate? Looking for a mammoth for the KoW ogres.
After checking the price…wowsa…I’ll wait for Mantic’s version or the Conan fig from Reaper.
West Wind Productions makes a fabulous dwarf mammoth (as in race, not size) for £49.99. I’ve had my eye on four of these for some time, and they’re on my Christmas list:

Mirliton still sell the old Grenadier one for €55 in the Barbarian range

thats the old classic 🙂 saw a better painted version in the Grenadier 90s something catalogue though
this looks good.
the lord of the rings Harad Murmak is still available at £60. may want to flock it to make it hairy but?

Surely it’d be better to flay a teddy bear and use the pelt than use flock? 😉
A little pricey for my tastes.
how about
