This Kickstarter looks awesome. As someone who is very much interested in solo tabletop gaming, game books have always had my attention. This natural evolution towards the Graphic Novel media caught my eye from Van Ryder Games who have five of them for you to check out.

Graphic Novel Adventures- Van Ryder Games

The basic premise of these books is similar to that of Fighting Fantasy. In each you will make a character and adventure through the book, making choices and decisions which change your path and the overall arch of the story. Each of them has multiple endings to explore and the Graphic Novel formula allows them to do some awesome things with the concept of 'turn to page x'.

Graphic Novel Adventures Captive

For example, in Book One, Captive, you are looking to find your daughter who has been kidnapped. It also points out some fascinating mechanics which will actually have you looking at the drawings on each page in detail as there are all manner of hidden paths for you to venture down. You might find a hidden clue, or spot something sneaking up on you!

I have picked out my two other favourites from the campaign with Loup Garou which has you playing as a Werewolf avoiding the dangerous hunters on your tail...

...and Sherlock Holmes: Four Investigations, where you can play as either Sherlock or Watson as they venture out to solve some puzzling cases.

All of the books have their own artists, giving each of them their individual look and feel. I think I might have to go in for at least a few of these and pick them up to read through!

What do you think?
