Jean Grey & Omega Red Join The X-Men Of Marvel: Crisis Protocol

Atomic Mass Games has revealed that we've got a couple more X-Men on the way for Marvel: Crisis Protocol! We start with the good guys and Xavier's own as Jean Grey joins the fight against the Brotherhood Of Mutants.

With a suite of abilities that make her one of the most powerful mutants out there in the Marvel universe, Jean Grey is going to be an excellent addition to the X-Men. The miniature shows her rising up using her psychic abilities as she brings her telekinesis to bear against her foes.
Once again, I love the choice of outfit for her which brings her in line with the other X-Men we saw last year and those memories of Saturday mornings watching the cartoon. Team her up with Cyclops and you'll have quite the power couple.
With Jean Grey showing up I would hope that we're also going to be seeing them look towards the (Dark) Phoenix saga. I think they could do some fun stuff with that miniature.
Omega Red Hits Back
As well as Jean Grey, we also got a peek at another villain in the form of Omega Red. If you're looking for a badass foe to pit against the X-Men and particularly Wolverine then this fellow might tick a few boxes.
Omega Red // Marvel Crisis Protocol
With superhuman strength and his Death Spores which are able to leech power from those around him, Omega Red is a terrifying enemy. He also comes with his twisted Carbonadium tendrils (which are going to be a pain to stick together I don't doubt) that are able to ensnare his foes and cut them to ribbons. Assembly issues aside, this fellow looks like he's going to be epic.
Omega Red has gone toe-to-toe with Wolverine for eighteen hours before so he isn't going to be a pushover. I can't wait to see folks painting him up and adding him into the mix. This also points to the vast array of fun and interesting characters Atomic Mass Games can play around with from the X-Men universe.
Now, where's Gambit...

Omega Red is one of those characters who debut just when I pretty much stopped collecting / reading comics on a regular basis (I still occasionally pick up interesting looking stuff).
Typical Jim Lee Character design (which is never a bad thing) but I know zero about the character.
Constantly impressed by these minis, still fighting off the urge to buy any!
I had to do some reading up on him. Very much one of those characters from the endless depths of X-Men it seems! Well, to me anyway
there is deleted scene for him from Deadpool 2, not sure how accurate a depiction of him it is! Be interesting when Disney / Marvel start to churn out X-Men films how some of these characters pitch up.
I myself really want to see a big screen proper Mr Sinister – would dread to think what Fox would have done with him based upon some of their previous villain attempts!
He is in the prison in the background for a second in Deadpool 2. Would love to see him on the screen
It will be interesting. The FoX-Men films mostly drew from older comics lore (Days of Future Past, Dark Phoenix Saga, God Loves Man Kills, Demon Bear Saga, etc). And they were also careful to make the X-Men setting very grounded and away from space travel, dimension hopping and the like.
I think it will be interesting to see the X-Men in the MCU and especially see if they pull from some of the newer lore or some of the crazier lore.
Both minis look really good.
Great figures I wonder if thay’ll bring out a Phoenix figure.
It is certain to happen sometime.
Part of me wonders how long before they start doing alt-Jean Greys. Other than clones, she just had a lot of power set changes that went along with her costume changes.
And then there’s the teenager time-displaced Jean Grey that’s in the most recent stuff.
True she was probably the most power X-Men out their.
YES!!!! Been waiting for Omega Red, one of my favourite villains. Proper badass!!
Well, Jean is not my favorite x-men, but she’s a must for the collection.
I too, started loosing interest about the time Omega Red started showing up. Few characters from that time period actually came to life for me, so I’ll pass on him. Just don’t have a connection with him.
I’m hoping beyond hope that we’ll eventually see Phoenix/Dark Phoenix as an Ultimate Encounter release similar to last year’s Thanos. I would love for it to just be “Phoenix Summer” of releases with the Phoenix 5 (Cyclops, Emma Frost, Colossus, Magik, and Namor inhabited by the Phoenix Force) leading into the Dark Phoenix figure, similar to how they released the Black Order leading into Thanos.
Of course they’ll probably do Apocalypse and his Horsemen (Archangel!) before that, but a guy can dream.
We do have the rumored Dormammu Ultimate Encounter to get through first, however.
I think it would be more strange if we never saw Phoenix in Crisis Protocol.
Do not forget Rachel Summers.
