Jake Thornton Leads Us Down into Dwarf King’s Hold 4
May 29, 2014 by dracs
Those of you who were lucky enough to be at Mantic's Open Day may have caught sight of the new developments for Dwarf King's Hold. Well over on his blog Jake Thornton has takes us through what we can expect from Dwarf King's Hold 4.
Dwarf Kings Hold 4 will be building upon the rules of the previous sets as an entirely stand-alone game in its own right. The game will be for 2-5 players, with one player once again taking on the role of the evil powers that infest the hold.
As in previous editions, there will be specific scenarios for players to take on, as well as heroes for both the good and bad sides of the adventure.
However, there are is also what Jake is describing as a "sandbox element", where you will be able to design your own dwarf heroes, gaining experience and loot as you gaming, as well as there being stats for all the minis in Mantic's Kings of War range.
Most intriguing of all though is a mention of backstabbing among the adventurers. Because a bit of creative backstabbing always helps bring friends together on their delving into the Dwarf King's Hold!
Dwarf King's Hold 4 will hopefully be heading to Kickstarter at the end of July or August, when we will hopefully be able to find out more about the changes they have made to this game. I quite liked the previous editions of Dwarf King's Hold, so it will be interesting to see how number 4 mixes the game up.
What new things do you hope for Dwarf King's Hold 4?

Colour me interested, getting a heroquest revisit vibe from this, some of those minis look rather nice as well. Especially liking the barbarian
After testing DKH, I found it better than Heroquest and Space Hulk… And now with extra diversity ! 🙂
Agreed! It is a very fun game. Looking forward to this!
Yes , thanks guys at Mantic , a game to move past Heroquest . A game to go into the world of Kings of War, to hopefully bring in more players and make that world an AWESOME gaming experience with tons of fluff like GW. Look out Work-shop you are in for some competition on fantasy. I’m in for $100.00 bucks or is it pounds.
If they make the miniatures out of a better materiel the the horrible restic they use, then yes.
If not, then i wont touch it.
Im assuming itkl be the same as dreadball extreme and not restic
love the figures especially the necromancer who looks like Vego in Ghostbuster’s.
