Now You Can Own Jabba The Hutt’s Sail Barge!
February 19, 2018 by stvitusdancern
Coming out of the New York Toy Fair is some very interesting and exciting news from Hasbro.
They have created their own crowdfunding site called HasLab and their first project is the creation of the iconic Sail Barge from Return of the Jedi.
This barge will be in the 3 3/4 scale from all the famous Star Wars figures we all cherished as kids. With that in mind, this model will be four feet in length and seventeen inches tall! It will be a sight to behold. It will include fully decorated interiors and even a Jabba the Hutt figure!
There is so much that is going to be put into this vehicle it will be incredible. So what's the catch? Well, first they have to get to 5000 minimum backers at a price tag of $499.00 and a delivery date of February 2019.
I am not sure what it will retail for, but I am hoping for a substantial saving! I am such a big fan of the original three movies that I was just shocked and amazed when I saw this announcement today. I will be one of those 5000 backers. What am I going to do with it you ask?
Well, it will find a place of honour above our video screen in the U.S. Studio! You have until April 3rd, 2018 to place your order.
What do you think? Are you as excited as I am?

That is fracking insane 😀 …… Bloody cool though, i will be envious in the extreme if it funds and you get one Gianna ( they’re just shy of 1100 backers with 43 days to go as i type ) . I look forward to seeing it take pride of place in the studio at some point in the future 😀 .
The obvious question is how does this scale against the Legion stuff?
No, this is for the 3 3/4″ toy line, which is about 1/18 scale.
Well the play fingers in the graphics are not in scale with the ship. They are way to big. So the ship would be a really good size for games foot print and room size wise, but the interior details, that I imagine will be numerous, will look out of place along side 28-32 mm figures. Would be cool to see one converted, but you would have to be very confident that you can pull it off. Or your going to be left crying over a wreck. Guess you use it as debris around a sarlac pit at that point… Read more »
Just a tad over my budget at the moment but sounds great.
That’s pretty neat, but the sail barge was never on my interest list. The only toy at this scale that I would want produced would be the Falcon, which would be to expensive to buy and too large to store.
…………….. was a little bit disappointed when I found out this was a model. …….. It would have been such a great weekend too. 😉
what i wouldn’t have given to have had my hands on that when i was young.
recreated that scene time and again using cardboard boxes and polystyrene.
