Snaffle Up Iron Duke’s 74th Highlanders From Empress
August 29, 2023 by brennon
Empress Miniatures has now made another set of 28mm metal models from Iron Duke Miniatures available for you to scoop up. These 74th Highlanders are for the Orange River Range and were sculpted by Paul Hicks.
74th Highlanders 1851-53 // Empress Miniatures
This is set one of two with the second coming soon. Here, you'll find soldiers representing the 74th Highlanders who were deployed to the 8th Cape Frontier War in 1851 and fought until its end. Within the set, you'll find a kneeling Sergeant (pictured above) who is hopefully a fine chap, charged with leading these fellows into the heat of battle.
According to Iron Duke, the 74th found themselves heavily involved in trying to clear and secure the Waterkloof stronghold. Another company of the regiment also took part in the Battle Of Berea in Lesotho.
If this set interests you, you can snap it up from Empress over on their webstore and get more details on the unit via Iron Duke and as part of the Historical Notes section of their website!
