V&V Miniatures have another addition to their Dark Age range with a new Irish unit making the rounds. This set is armed with javelins for a bit of skirmish-based action, rushing from the undergrowth to dog you as you march.

Within the set, you get a collection of eight miniatures which can be used to form a unit in games like SAGA. They are clad in traditional-looking clothing plus those big shields and hefty javelins with which to chuck at their foes. There is a good array of different heads and poses here allowing you to make a neat looking band of warriors.

If you seek to play games from the Dark Ages and even further into the Medieval period then these might be worth snapping up. You can get nice and earthy with the colour choices and then work on nice points of interesting like the beards and hair.
