Pulp Figures are delving into ancient tomes and learning of lost arcane knowledge this week. They have created an awesome set of miniatures for their Arcane Academics range which would be perfect for Lovecraftian investigations and much more besides.

Arcane Academics - Pulp Figures

Arcane Academics // Pulp Figures

Leading the way is a proper set of venerable Arcane Academics. They look like the studious type that would find themselves embroiled in some terrible situation. Perhaps one of their Student Investigators has ended up being the one that read some forbidden text?

I could see these jocks, nerds and musicians having to work together in order to combat some threat from beyond the stars. My favourite has to be the lady with the tennis racket who is probably using this to swat away hauntingly alien bat creatures from the beyond!

If you're looking for someone to consult when the brown stuff hits the fan, you also have this set of Mediums & Mystics.

I like the chap with the medallion around his next quite a lot. He seems like someone who acts like a terrible magician but is actually a supreme sorcerer who has had quite enough of humanity. I also really love the lady in her wheelchair with the seeing crystal in her lap. Amazing stuff.

Scenario Elements

If you're looking to come up with an interesting scenario to play out with the miniatures above, how about visiting this Altar Of Evil and dealing with this wild fellow? He should be familiar to some!

If you're interested in dealing with terrible evil artefacts, surely it makes sense to have the Shrine Of The Grail to hole up in when things go badly. Just make sure that you choose wisely.

There is also this awesome Devilish Accoutrements set which looks like the perfect way to add the right narrative edge to your terrain. Slot one of these into a normal-looking building and suddenly, everything becomes a little eerier.

It's nice little pieces like this that make for interesting and diverse games on the tabletop. Going subtle can make just as much of a bang as going over the top.

Bonus Miniatures!

As well as all of that loveliness, there is also this neat bonus set that is available for you to snap up. Rondo The Campus Creeper seems like the bad guy but I bet he is a massive red herring.

Rondo The Campus Creeper & Pyewacket The Cat - Pulp Figures

Rondo The Campus Creeper & Pyewacket The Cat // Pulp Figures

I also like Pyewacket The Cat and could totally believe that he can talk. You could imagine your students rushing into the library only to find a cat stalking them through the shelves. As they start to wonder what to do, Pyewacket steps out and starts spouting some arcane knowledge.

What do you make of this set of miniatures from Pulp Figures?

"I also like Pyewacket The Cat and could totally believe that he can talk..."
