Insurgents & Reinforcements Called Up For Spectre Miniatures
June 27, 2015 by stvitusdancern
Spectre Miniatures continues on their mission to bring us the latest in modern warfare gaming. In this iteration, the have brought forward some Insurgents to counter the Task Force Operators.
They are armed with a mixture of weapons AKSU, AK-47 and M4 rifles and their clothing will fit in any region of the world to reign in terror and force their will upon the population. To answer this threat the Task Force Operators have added some additional firepower.
There is the "red mister" AA-12 auto shotgun which can lay down a tremendous amount scatter to take down the bad guys in close range CQB.
In addition to give your operators extra covering fire, they have included two LMG (light machine guns) poses, the weapons appear to be SAWs (M249) which are useful in battle in that it can take either belt feed ammo or magazines from a M16 / M4 weapon.
I cannot wait to get my hands on these minis as we look to create a modern table, I am thinking Little Birds (MH-6) swooping down on a village in the middle of the night and the operators going building to building to capture the leader of a terrorist group and gather intel.
I will have to somehow work MH-60s into this to extract the operators and their prize catch.
Is modern a period for you?

Picked up a couple minis from these guys at Salute (just for painting), and have to say, they’re really nice
Yep I am in. Its that old shiny thing syndrome cannot wait till Vapnatrac in York next year, If you haven’t been then get out your diary and write up its date Salute in the middle of England half the price, food three times as cheap and crack the same, but no forge world, ho well the have a shop in GW headquarters now so no hassle.
Modern games all the way. Waiting for the Osprey spec-ops rules until I buy 28mm minis. Those insurgents are tasty. I’m still not sure about the weapons – they look a touch under scaled to me.
Vapnatrac is good if you have never been and you don’t have to go to London either and pay stupid prices for everything!
Nice to know you can buy ‘crack’ though – always handy to know where you can get good class A’s when your out and about. D.x
I think the issue with the weapons is they have tried to keep them true-scale. I was in on their KS campaigns and it was a big talking point, as making weapons true-scale either makes them look small, or makes them very fragile. Bent weapon barrels was an issue on early releases, but they made some changes and it seems to be under control.
Either way, I will be getting a few of these to add to my forces!
These are painted so well…I could hardly do them justice. Very cool though and a great addition to their moderns.
…i’m sure you could, go on, you know you want to!
they would perfect for sky’s strike back series to replay the missions?
need to get some ‘Strike Back’ minis
