Hunt Down Crims At High Speed As Judge Dredd
August 3, 2019 by brennon
Warlord Games teased another miniature from the upcoming Judge Dredd game which is slated for an Autumn release. Check out Judge Dredd mounted up on his motorbike.
Now you clearly need to plan out exactly how you're going to run a scenario where Judge Dredd is chasing crims on the highways of Mega-City One, blasting apart their vehicles before getting stuck in once they have been blown off the road.
I really like the sculpting style that Warlord has employed for the Judge Dredd range, building on what is a very retro look with a nice style which makes the miniatures feel cool without looking stupid and out of proportion.
I imagine a lot of people are very happy that this is going to be making an appearance on tabletops later this year. In the meantime, don't forget to check out the Strontium Dog range.
What do you make of their take on Dredd with his bike?

Thas a very awesome pose considering he’s just sitting
Well, it is Judge Dredd! Since my stroke I sound like the Stallone JD if I want to.
I’ve seen some bad Dredd sculpts. The Mongoose Ones aren’t great.
When’d you have a stroke?
Adriaaaaaaaaaaaaan
As long as you can still fire double whammies!
Lawmaster.
That is really good take on Dredd on Lawmaster.
Awesome sculpt. Really true to the 2000AD style. Anyone who thinks otherwise gets 5 years in the iso-cube
What if I turn ‘States’?
that 5 years in the cubes is for turning states, otherwise it’s straight to Titan for you me laddo
That is fantastic! They even got the expression just right. I’ll have three. The proportions are pretty good and not too much MMH’s Dredd from the beginning of his life. It was like you were always looking up at him.
Do you know if Warlord will be making other Judges as riders? I now need to read the old Wacoshop JD-RPG. Curses…
This might have to go on my xmas list. The Manta Prowl-tank too.
I imagine we’ll see the others mounted so far we’ve only seen foot sculpts for other Judges and the only Dredd on foot is fighting Death in what I imagine will be the bonus mini for ordering the game.

better pictures on page 2, page 1 has wider angles showing fatties and one very mean member of the Angel gang.
p.s., it would be impossible to ride that thing, but it still looks awesome!
I would be okay in a straight line 🙂
It’s the wrong damn Lawmaster, give me the old “soft tail” Lawmaster with the green/black EVGA screen between the handlebars and the Cyclops Laser 😀
It does look like Warlord are going to be using a modified version of the Strontium Dog rules for the JD game. I wasn’t that impressed with them (as it’s basically 2 or 3 minis vs 6 on the other side), and felt they wouldn’t scale up very well for larger/multiplayer games. Your thoughts?
That Lawmaster would have been even more impossible to ride than this one! A day riding one of them and you would not be walking very far.
Don’t care, the one above is the “wrong” Lawmaster (I think it changed 2007ish), the previous one is the “right” Lawmaster (I suppose it all boils down to when you first started to read Judge Dredd comics in 2000AD). The “wrong” Lawmaster also gave birth to the “flying” Lawmaster (which was even more wrong). And there’s no CYCLOPS LASER!!!!!!!!! 😛
Nice.
I wonder how they compare to the last ones from 2012… wow, 2012… 7 years ago… and still haven’t painted the bastards XD
The Mongoose ones were pretty hit and miss. Some were excellent and some looked like they were made in the 70s. Part of the problem was they didn’t have a consistent sculptor (if I remember rightly Mongoose just put out for any sculptor to submit a green, and if they liked it they would buy it…rather than hiring a professional sculptor).
Then I’m lucky I guess. All the metals I have look rather good. At least in my eyes 😉
Yup, 46 out of 10 on the coolometer!
He looks badass!
That looks so cool.
Nice looking models, and if its anything like Strontium Dog, the gameplay will be good.
The one thing that is putting me off is the thought of what to do for terrain. Megacity One is so iconic I wouldn’t feel right playing in generic terrain. I’ll be interested to see what Warlord do about terrain themselves. If its a lot of scratchbuilding or expensive resin pieces I think I’ll just have to stick to buying a few models for the fun of painting.
based on SD core mechanics but with new bits bolted on to make it a unique game that is more fitting for Judges.
This could be a very cool looking game! Having seen a whole…. 3 sculpts? It does look less goofy in the sculpting. There is a risk in going too retro and sticking with the style of a 30 year old comic source.
