Howl At The Moon With Mierce Miniatures’ New Waelwulf Pack!
January 15, 2015 by brennon
Mierce Miniatures have a very, very cool looking addition to their world of Darklands coming in the middle of February. See what you think of Wulfric's Waelwulf Pack!
Above you can see the whole pack sculpted by Benoît Cosse from the artwork by Danny Cruz, and painted superbly by Martin Grandbarbe, Wulfric's Pack comprising five Wælwulfas. I absolutely love Werewolves in pretty much anything, I think it comes from role-playing as one for so long in Werewolf: The Apocalypse/Forsaken!
These are looking very good indeed and you can buy them as a pack above or as individuals if you're just looking for a bit of a painting project potentially.
What's interesting is that I can't tell whether or not the muscle definition on the bodies is actually from the miniatures themselves and the sculpting or if it's been painted on. I'd need to see an unpainted version to work that out I reckon. If it is just painted on then it does detract from the overall model as it will be harder for painters to get that effect.
Either way this is one awesome pack of howling Waelwulfas so will you be getting them?
Let us know!

Mierce are just soo good. I can imagine them putting these down on the table in front of CB…”*That* is how you sculpt a werewolf”…..;)
I’m not that keen and probably the only one lol but I prefer them to look more like the crinos form ( the middle one in the picture ) http://www.ding-irl.com/images/Five%20stages%20of%20Werewolf.jpg
So for me the CB ones fit my mental image of a Werewolf better to some degree.
Those are nice.
I have those and the muscle definition is defiitely there in the sculpt….superb paint job to enhace the effect…
Arent these done by the same guys that ran Maelstrom Games?
Those are some of the nicest werewolf sculpts I have seen. I think they would be a great option for people who play Kings of War and either don’t like Mantics werwolves or simply want more variety. They would also work as alternate skinwolves in Warhammer, or one of them could be used as a rather awesome werewolf for a Vampire Counts force, using the rules for a Varghulf.
I still like CB’s stuff better but they are nice minis.
It might be the paint job or the photo crop but I’m not that impressed with them.
@brennon the muscle definition is not just painted on – I have them on the table in front of me
