House Escher Bring Their Cutters To Necromunda’s Ash Wastes
August 16, 2022 by brennon
Games Workshop has been previewing more of the unique vehicles coming to the Houses of Necromunda. This week saw the previews for House Escher and their fast, deadly, flying Cutters. Some solid new options for Ash Wastes.

As effectively just a massive engine, this is pretty on the nose when it comes to the idea of a jetbike. They can blast across the tabletop, avoiding all sorts of dangers, before unloading their cargo of grenade launchers, plasma guns and heavy stubbers.
These vehicles, much like the Dirtbikes already available for Necromunda, actually just grant the Mounted condition. So, they can be handed to "Queens, Matriarchs, Prospects, or even Death Maidens" meaning there are plenty of possibilities for those looking to do some kitbashing.
These miniatures will find rules in the new book for Necromunda, The Aranthian Succession: Cinderak Burning supplement. I would hope that we'll see all of the gangs get access to their specialist vehicles sooner rather than later though.
Generally, I'm on board with the design. I think the look matches up to the feel of House Escher and they seem like fun models to tinker with. Equally, they also should make very fun kitbashing projects for Ork players. They can make use of pretty much anything in the Games Workshop range!
Imagine these turned into Deffkoptas or Bikes? I think they would look rather cool with Orks or maybe even Gretchin strapped to the back of them.
Are you a House Escher player tempted by the idea of using Cutters in your gang?

Comments sorted out – check out dem Ork vehicles…
Nice one Ben.
Dat’s not ork… dat’s ‘uman female…
I had myriad strong opinions but the moment’s gone now
They are fabulous for gaming and reminds me of the bike’s from the film PRIEST.
I don’t have Ash Wastes… it was tempting as I could have used the terrain and Nomads for my Star Wars campaign… and/or legion… but I already have two starter boxes and it was expensive…
However… I think I must have those bikes… very cool looking… Disney+ should replace those awful scooters from Boba Fett series with some of those Escher bikes.
The Orlock quads were pack of two, Helamites pack of four. Given the size of the minis, and the picture, I’m assuming the Escher bikes will be a four pack.
Is there a release date?
While I think I like the design of these bikes in a vacuum, it feels like such a departure in concept from Necromunda. Maybe someone in the comments can correct me on this, but aren’t jetbikes a technology lost to the Imperium and thus very rare? While they seem like glorified jet engines with a saddle it still feels a bit out of place for the setting. I think I prefered when when the setting felt more grounded, no pun intended.
Loses the entire Mad Max feel when things start flying around battlefield. If you can fly, then why would ever not fly.
Flying is always superior.
Exactly this.
Jetbikes in the emperium in the fluff seemed to be issued to people like costudes and dark angel chapter masters.
And violent hive gangs that barely have two credits to rub together now, appearantly.
BL books mention civilian air-cars and other antigrav vehicles often enough, and Necromunda has always been allowed to have a different feel to mainstream 40k. They fit right in with the rest of over the top aesthetic of the game, to me at least.
“Ork kitbash” came to mind immediately. I was, like, why are they showing alternate riders on Ork jetbikes?
Oh those are totally Orky looking jet bikes.
These do be looking cool, the paintschemes are where they shine, that leopard print on one of them is impressive.
Though I’m not an Escher fan, I love these dieselpunky jetbikes
