The Hornblower Ingird Joins Your Viking Warband From Brother Vinni
December 21, 2016 by brennon
Brother Vinni has continued to add to their Dark Age collection with Ingrid who would be a great addition to your Warlord's retinue.
It's a nice little snapshot of a moment in a battle, as the Viking lines gather together and at the blowing of the horn a shieldwall is formed. It's that kind of thing that makes wargaming and tabletop experiences come to life, even with a model as simple as this.
She's a neat miniature from a growing collection of rather good SAGA (or indeed any other Dark Age game) figures which is worth taking a closer look at.
What do you think of Ingrid?

Thanks for sharing, I’ve always fancied having a Viking warband and have heard you mention SAGA a few times before. I think it’s something ill have to look into.
This is a good looking miniature from them, I’ve had a few alternative 40k stuff from them in the past and they’ve been really good.
Vicky the Viking.
Now there’s an idea for a viking warband.
I wonder what other fictional factions could be used to as a reference.
There’s Asterix & Obelix of course …
That looks really nice.
She does speak to me.
(I skip the creative word play referencing what she’s doing there. Certainly would sound wrong…) o.O
Does anyone know if the leather / padded armour might be historically even remotely likely for the dark ages?
And, there’s something about the lower legs and footwear that seems odd to me. I know, the heels are anachronistic. That’s not what I mean. Rather the legs seem quite thick or the feet short. Makes a somewhat stunty aura. No?
I’m pretty sure quilted armour has been around for thousands of years in one form or another. I think it was part of the Dark Age wargear too.
I like it!
Something about the horn or the angle of it doesn’t quite look right (almost like she is drinking from it).. but otherwise I really like it.
