Horizon Zero Dawn: The Board Game by Steamforged Games is expanding, with their first expansion coming to retail. Adding more mighty machines making their way into the game, as players head out to the Nora territories in the upcoming expansion The Sacred Land.
The Sacred Land Expansion // Horizon Zero Dawn: The Board Game
Myself, I am a massive fan of the Horizon Zero Dawn video game. It is one of my very few Platinum trophies that I sat and endured the hard grind. The world is incredibly immersive, as players are thrown into a combination of a setting containing advanced technology which has developed in the wild. Scattered across the world, is wildlife, however, this wildlife is not the fluffy kind! They are beastly machines that are on the hunt.
It is for you as a player of Horizon: Zero Dawn: The Board Game, to head into the wild to be enrolled into the Hunter's Lodge to track and hunt these machines for the glory and safety of humanity.

Players get the chance in The Sacred Land Expansion to explore the Nora territory, a land that is never normally entered by a hunter. Using skills as either the Nora Trapper and Nora Scavenger, players will have new abilities and items to equip to grow your hunters to adapt to their new and daunting environment.

Players will come head to head with some of the most fearsome beasties which video game fans will certainly recognise. The expansion containing five new enemy machine types, including Redeye Watchers, Snapmaws, Bellowbacks, Stalkers and Longlegs. Cannot wait to take on a Snapmaw on the board... those Crocodiles walked into a lot of my trip mines on PlayStation... I wonder what new tactics will be available in the expansion.
The upcoming The Sacred Land Expansion will be heading to retail on September 14th 2021, and is available to pre-order today. But if you cannot wait that long and enjoyed the video game, be sure to take a look at the core game. It will be sure to keep you ticking until you meet some new beasts in September!
September and August are always months where the tabletop releases hurt my purse!

I really love H:ZD (heck, I bought a feckin’ PS4 just to play it when it was new) but it really doesn’t pull any strings as a board game…
It appears to be yet another game where people but it mostly for the minis. It seems to have mixed reviews online, and tbh I am wary of a lot of youtube so-called reviewers who are little more than company shills-for-hire who make a living hyping mediocre games.
Attack of the killer tosters could be an interesting game to play.
Love the video game, disliked the board game pretty intensely. The models are quite nice but the rest of it is absolute garbage.
