Hobgoblin’s Manyrings Evokes The Fury Of The Forest
July 22, 2019 by brennon
Hobgoblin Hobbies have introduced us to one of their massive models, the towering Manyrings The Mighty Treeman who is very angry that you started chopping down his forest.
You might recognise the sculpting style here of Jason Fairclough of Thunderchild Miniatures and now Hobgoblin. This is an absolute beast of a resin cast which stands head and shoulders above your regular 28mm miniature as you'll see here in this scale photo.
I can think of a lot of folks who will be picking this fellow up to drop into a larger Fantasy force; maybe one inspired by recent rulesets like Warlords Of Erehwon and Age Of Magic. I love that there is a little Tolkien twist in the facial features here with the long drooping nose and bushy eyebrows reminding me of the work of Howe and Lee.
I love the idea of armies made up of the forces of nature; Dryads, Treemen, Ents and the like. It would cool to run one using some of the models like this out there.
Do you think you'll be picking up the mighty Manyrings when he gets added to their webstore?

That is one really good looking treeman. He also looks a lot like Treebeard.
Impressive figure. Would make a great centre piece for any fantasy army – with new plastic Halflings on the way, and this as a monster, would make a great faction for those games you mentioned and Kings of War.
A great figure if a little static! he may just be coming around to the threats
He got a bit chubby since LotR…
