Hobday & Hicks Tease Brand New 28mm Fantasy Miniatures
June 12, 2023 by brennon
The dynamic duo that is Hobday & Hicks have been previewing some more brand new 28mm miniatures that are coming out in the near future. Rather than delving deeper into Historical wargaming, Hobday & Hicks are looking to a new Fantasy range that builds on The Barons' War core rules.
Dark Wizard // Hobday & Hicks
Some stunning miniatures have popped up from Paul Hicks already, expertly painted by the HVM Workbench. Here you can see the Dark Wizard who is summoning forth some terrible evil to blight the land. As with all of the sculpts from Hicks, the details are amazing and I know a lot of people are already eager to snap this up.
As well as the Dark Wizard, we also got a look at some of the painted Orcs that will be accompanying the range. They have a neat Tolkienesque vibe to them which has already got my attention but they feel like they could fit into all manner of different wargaming worlds depending on how you painted them.
Orcs // Hobday & Hicks
Hobday and Hicks gave a few more details on the range and what's coming soon as part of a quick UKGE interview we did with them last week. You can watch it here and see if you can hear when Gerry howls in despair that he didn't get to talk their ears off.
Hobday & Hicks Reveal Brand New Fantasy Miniatures Range!
The duo told us that they are planning on doing Orcs and Humans to begin with and then it could expand from there. Using the small-scale skirmish affair that is The Barons' War as a basis seems like it could be a lot of fun and it will be neat to see the changes in action including the use of magic and more.
I would absolutely love to see what Hicks would do when it came to some Dwarves for this range and some Elves too.
Are you going to be eagerly devouring this Fantasy range when it arrives?

That dark wizard looks a bit Catweasel to me XD
No that’s Tim the Enchanter, he’s lost his ram horn helmet.
Fab looking new figures.
These are certainly exciting. Looking forward to seeing the extent of this range but I’m likely to get some for sure.
Oh wow I can see me having to get these as they look like they will mix in well with my old metal GW LotR Orcs
They look fantastic, looking forward to adding some to my tabletop games!
