Hedonites Of Slaanesh & Daughters Of Khaine Releasing Soon
February 8, 2021 by brennon
Games Workshop is going all out on the new releases for two factions within the world of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar this weekend. Both the Hedonites Of Slaanesh and the Daughters Of Khaine get new miniatures to play around with. We start with those devoted to the god of excess...
Hedonites Of Slaanesh Battletome // Age Of Sigmar
Shop Warhammer Age Of Sigmar @ Store.OnTableTop
The first release is the new Battletome for the Hedonites Of Slaanesh which outlines all of the new units that are coming to the tabletop. Slaanesh has been freed from their prison and they are now bringing all of their servants to bear against those that have denied it for so long. This, of course, means new miniatures!
New Character Miniatures
The first set of miniatures we're going to look at are for the characters that can join the Hedonites Of Slaanesh. Leading the way is the Lord Of Pain...
Lord Of Pain // Age Of Sigmar
The Lord Of Pain comes armed with a vicious looking maul which will crush you under its weight. For once, I do like the foot-on-rock pose here because it gets across a sense of subjugation and dominance that certainly works with the background of Slaanesh.
As well as the Lord Of Pain, we also have the introduction of the Shardspeakers who are able to add a dose of magical power to the events unfolding on the battlefield.
Shardspeakers // Age Of Sigmar
Harnessing eldritch objects of power, the Shardspeakers can summon forth powerful magic and aid their comrades on the battlefield from the relative safety of the back lines. The relics they hold in their hands are incredibly deadly and you wouldn't want to be the focus of their power.
Never to be outdone, Sigvald The Manificent is also stepping onto the battlefield of The Mortal Realms with a new look miniature.
Sigvald The Magnificent // Age Of Sigmar
Sigvald has ascended beyond his mortal form and retained all of his beauty in the process. There are still echoes of the classic miniature in his design but everything has been turned up to eleven. He is even sporting a crown of horns now, a mark of the daemonic power now running through his veins.
I think this is a stunning miniature and certainly, one of the better offerings from Games Workshop when it comes to their "bigger is better" mentality. Talking of big things (no, not that), we also have Glutos Orscollion who is being dragged forth atop his chariot.
Glutos Orscollion // Age Of Sigmar
Another masterful sorcerer sitting atop a commanding position on the battlefield, Glutos is also surrounded by quite the entourage. I think I actually like a lot of the other miniatures in this kit more than him. The armoured fellow on the left is awesome, as is the peacock-feathered mage to the right-hand side. Also, you could easily break those daemon beasts away from the front of the chariot and use them as Spawn in your games I'm sure.
New Core Troops
You can't have an army of characters and so that's where the new core troops come in for the Hedonites Of Slaanesh. You'll remember many of these from the different previews from Games Workshop in 2020 I'm sure.
Myrmidesh Painbringers // Age Of Sigmar
Symbaresh Twinsouls // Age Of Sigmar
Blissbarb Archers // Age Of Sigmar
Blissbarb Seekers // Age Of Sigmar
Slickblade Seekers // Age Of Sigmar
Slaangor Fiendbloods // Age Of Sigmar
The folks at Games Workshop have pretty much all of the bases covered when it comes to the new units available to the Hedonites Of Slaanesh. I think this is possibly one of the best launch line ups for a faction yet in the game and there are very few miniatures here that I don't like.
It feels like they have been able to strike the right balance and not gone too over-the-top in their design. There is also a sense that they've drawn from the classic look of Slaanesh troops here going back to Warhammer of old and done something fun with the whole aesthetic, drawing on cultural touchstones from the Middle-East and Asia as a whole.
Daughters Of Khaine
Not to be left out, and perhaps looking to make up for their mistakes in the continuing narrative of The Mortal Realms, the Daughters Of Khaine also get themselves a new Battletome this weekend.
Daughters Of Khaine Battletome // Age Of Sigmar
The new Battletome gives additional rules and updates to the Daughters Of Khaine on the battlefield. As you might imagine, it makes them even more murderous than they were already. As one of the most well-loved armies in the range, it's good that they are getting a leg up.
They don't get any new miniatures apart from this new set of Endless Spells which can be introduced into your games. Who wouldn't want a hurricane of blades and blood?
Endless Spells // Age Of Sigmar
As has been mentioned many times already, that snake is going to be turned into the mount for so many different leaders in the coming months. Again, very cool ideas on show here and obviously some great entries for those who are loving The Mortal Realms and Age Of Sigmar.
Are you going to be snapping up some new miniatures?

Nice I think the sculptors have been getting inspiration from the dark Crystal characters.
Those Slaanesh miniatures look really good. Of course we outside UK might have to wait those longer because Brexit has had kept products from leaving UK.
They are beautiful. GW knocked it out of the park here.
I was not fond of the chaos forces originally, but now that I have a few warbands from Warcry, Shadow & Pain and Underworld’s Direchasm I’ve started to build a small army of them.
Still not keen on the daemonettes and other twisted creatures, but the latest Slaanesh look good, more like Arabian Nights than chaos spawn. And the fact that I’m luring my Soulbound players into a confrontation with agents of Slaanesh makes them even more tempting, despite the fact that we are gaming via Skype.
Still has a rainbow parade vibe for me.
Even if i don’t play them, I really like the Shardspeakers, it’s incredible!
Darn, i’ll have to update my book for DoK… good thing i only plan on using them as allies… gives me more time to buy the tome!
I like the Painbringers. Not too crazy about the Arabian Nights vibe…
What I wanna know is when are they gonna release the awesome dude that’s on the cover of the new Slaaneshi Battletome?
