Hedonites Of Slaanesh Battletome & New Models For Age Of Sigmar
December 28, 2020 by brennon
Warhammer: Age Of Sigmar is also getting a big ol' bundle of awesomeness to start of 2021 as Games Workshop showed off the new Battletome for the Hedonites Of Slaanesh and some of the miniatures that support it.

This new book features loads of new options for the followers of Slaanesh who are marching out across the Mortal Realms to do battle with all comers. Slaanesh has now been freed from its bindings, although I'm sure it rather enjoyed it, and this means loads of new followers who are eager to please their lord of pleasure and pain.
Leading the way we have the Slaangor Fiendbloods which will be fun for those who looked at the new Direchasm set which features just one of these. Now you can run with a bunch of these, a herd if you will, which come with curled horns, snapping pincers and more.

These are very cool to see and I love the direction that Games Workshop has gone with the overall design for the Hedonites Of Slaanesh. There is something classic and "Blanche" about the miniatures we're seeing here which should make old school fans of Warhammer happy.
As well as the Slaangors we also have the Blissbarb Archers who bring a deadly elegance to the Mortal Realms.

There is certainly a lot of influence here drawn from the Middle East and those Ancient cultures. It works very well for Slaanesh as a whole and makes them exceedingly interesting to paint too. Not only have you got a lot of skin to work with but also flashes of cloth and armour which can be adorned as luxuriously as you like.
You can even mount up some of your Blissbarb killers atop some lightning-fast steeds. This is another great upgrade to a set of classic monsters from The Old World.

I really like their predatory look which reminds me of raptors on the prowl from Jurassic Park. They seem like natural hunters and a good fit for these archers who are all almost at one with their beasts.
The same can be said about the Slickblade Seekers who are the melee option for those diving into a Hedonites Of Slaanesh army.

These warriors carry over the style of the rest of the miniatures previewed here but with a little bit more armour here and there since they're going to be in the thick of the fighting. There is still a lot to come from the Hedonites Of Slaanesh apparently so keep an eye out for what appears in the next few weeks.
I would like to see some folks bringing in a few of the models from Warcry to supplement this army on the tabletop. The Cypher Lords, in particular, would be a superb addition to a Slaanesh army.
Are you going to be snapping up these miniatures?

I quite like the models, but GW should really get less ridiculous with their naming convention.
I cringe every time I read new gw names.
Oh, those sweet, sweet IP restrictions…
Those are some nice looking models full of Slaanesh goodness. Shame that those were given so silly names.
Love these models along those previewed with Sigvald, think I maybe collecting these, looking forward to the model of the Palanquin seennon the right of the book cover.
Starting the get small units of chaos factions for when I start running Soulbound RPG in new year. I know you don’t need minis and I know you certainly don’t need them for Skype games…
but they help me to keep track of things while I’m running the game online…
And those blissbarb archers look very cool.
I wish the new High Elf archers were as dynamic as these Blissbarb archers. Great stuff.
silly names, odd looking aesthetic but drawn to them all the same – Fiendbloods look the coolest though!! Soon as they bring out a start collecting set I’ll consider it. Got the old metal Slaanesh Hero on daemonic mount in a cupboard somewhere – only ever bought it to paint but be cool if he had a few chums…
Loving the vaguely arabic, vaguely indian, vaguely persian aesthetic.
Nice figures the steads remind me of seahorses for some reason.
Whoa, new Battletome already? I still haven’t got the old one. — Better snatch that up quick because I still want it. I love looking at all those pictures, art & lore.
Can’t wait till the new big baddie featured on the cover of the upcoming Battletome makes his debut.
