Heavy Gear: Dreadnoughts Takes To Kickstarter For Tabletop Fleet Battles
November 22, 2016 by deltagamegirl22
If you're a fan of the Sci Fi Heavy Gear universe, then you definitely have to take a look at the current Kickstarter from Fusion Core Studios- Heavy Gear: Dreadnoughts. Dreadnoughts is a fleet scale tabletop wargame featuring high tech landship armies, dynamic player defined turn sequence, and strategic decision making.
Gianna and I had a chance to talk to these guys at Gen Con this year, as well as having a look at the models in their display case. They are very passionate about the game as well as its universe and are ready to share the excitement with fellow gamers.
In Heavy Gear: Dreadnoughts, players will control armadas of landships, massive hovering fortresses bristling with weapons & troops. To achieve victory, you must wisely manage your army to not only deliver punishing bombardments, but also to launch air missions, command ground forces, and provide repair and recovery resources to damaged units.
Will you be commanding your fleet of Dreadnoughts on the tabletop?

where the link to the kickstarter ?
Sorry about that! Fixed
Those ships are looking really nice.
Heavy Gear is an awesome IP. I’m thrilled it’s getting plastic minis now with this and the previous kickstarter.
It’s a wait and see approach at this point, Koraski. We’re going to need more exposure, and a lot more folks to put in to get things knocked out at this point.
I’d have to see a gameplay example first, because as is there’s no mechanic that makes me want to play this over Dropfleet,.
The intro video is funny though, so … *batman voice* :
“In a world … where backers have almost no money left … we need answers !” 😉
Hello, limburger. There is work being done on releasing a basic overview of the ruleset for those curious. As you say, folks have awaited the release of DW and Kingdom Death, and the KS has been in a bit of a blind spot, due to holidays and other matters going on.
