Head to TempleCon to Get the First Look at Dark Age: Outcasts!
February 5, 2015 by dracs
Those of you who are heading to TempleCon should think about heading over to the Dark Age stall as they will be bringing with them the new Dark Age: Outcasts full army book!
Here's a list of what the guys at Dark Age say we can expect to find in the new book:
- Full Army Book: DA: Outcasts contains everything involving outcasts- Generic, Slavers, the new Salt Flat Nomads subfaction, and the Bounty Hunters.
- Revamped Rules: Every unit has been overhauled and re-balanced or re-invented to a new tactical use. All Sub-Factions have been reworked to offer more flavor and strategy.
- Revamped Sculpts: Many older models have been re-sculpted to be brought in line with our newer releases.
- 200+ pages of narrative, continuing the story from Fanaticism and showing the development of the world and its characters.
Along with this there will be a bunch of new models available, including those of the new Salt Flat Nomads subfaction.
This new group is, in my opinion, particularly stylish and I really want to find out more about them, both in game terms and what their background is. The Oathpourer (last image) is especially eye catching. The suits and tubes running to the mouth put me in mind of the Fremen from Dune.
If you happen to be at TempleCon this weekend, be sure to check out the Dark Age stall and let us know what you think of their new releases.

Dark age is getting harder and harder to ignore 🙂 anyone play this game and have something on how the rules are?
I’ve been getting into it and IMHO the rules are fantastic. Very easy to pick up but with plenty of depth.
Small scale skirmish, so between 8 and 12 models per side on average. Alternating activation system but you can squad-link similar models to have them all activate at once. Uses d20s and a rolling mechanic where you always want to roll low.
Very brutal gameplay…models die pretty easily except for the really big things like Greater Elementals or the larger CORE models.
Rules are free at their website…highly recommend people check it out.
I am finding it more and more difficult not to get into this game. The Salt Nomads look amazing! I was always a fan of the Outcasts and this has just made Dark Age look even more appealing. 🙂
Well, looks like the guys at Dark Age were listening. The Salt Flat Nomads really caught my eye but I’m about equally as excited about the resculpts. Outcasts are without a doubt my next faction once my Fire Draghyri are done.
Thank goodness they are starting to do resculpts. Hand of War is looking cool.
