Hasslefree Miniatures’ Knightly Dwarf Challenges All Foes
March 17, 2020 by brennon
Hasslefree Miniatures has been showing off some work on a new Dwarf Knight that might get added into the mix in the near future. They're not convinced he needs a dragon to fight...but he might need a dragon to fight.
This fellow is very much in the style of those Oldhammer models from back in the day. I am reminded of a lot of the old Citadel miniatures here in this design but of course with a LOT more motion. I particularly love his rather massive sword which has a bit chunky blade, perfect for carving through dragon scales and maybe bonking a few greenskins on the head.
As well as this version above with the dragon crest atop his helmet, they also worked on a boar version too.
I think a lot of people would very much like to see this Dwarf popping up in their life. It certainly seems so if the responses on social media are anything to go by! I think it would be great to maybe see a few of these fellows, perhaps a gallant collection of Dwarf Knights who are on a quest for the Holy Grail...which holds some wonderfully delicious ale!
Are you liking the look of this new Dwarf Knight?

Very nice and dynamic
This is a near exact copy of one of the old Imperial Dwarfs. I had the mini and it’s the best of that group. Yes all that motion in the 1980s and still a one piece cast. It’s a great tribute to a genuine classic mini.
The full 1986 range can be see on Stuff of Legends http://www.solegends.com/citWDAds/citwd1986/WD808608p07ImpDwarfs.htm (WD80, my first White Dwarf!)
Glad you posted that link, I thought I recognised it from my youth.
Yeah I definitely had one of those, and several of the others; all painted with Humbrol enamels.
Yep I think mine are still hanging around somewhere, with a thick black Halford primer undercoat 😀 ah the follies of youth, good times
Primer. That was Golden Demon standard in those days. Sure I used to paint straight on to the metal 😀
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Kev White is my all time favourite sculptor
He has a great line of Dwarves, looking forward to adding this one to my collection
I NEED BOTH VERSIONS!
A fabulous looking model.
So familiar. A must buy 🙂
Oh,wow! That’s just gorgeous! I love the oldhammer vibe to it and it is a must have for me. More please Kev 🙂
