Hanger 18 Miniatures Bring Modern Pin-Ups To Kickstarter

I've seen this one popping up on my news feed on Facebook a few times so it seems pretty popular! Hanger 18 Miniatures is bringing a whole bunch of Modern Pin-Ups to your painting table via the medium of Kickstarter...
Above are some of the miniatures that are already sculpted for the Kickstarter but there is much more where that came from. They are looking to sculpt these miniatures in both 54mm and 32mm so you can choose the size of the project you're going to be undertaking.
Something I did wonder about when I checked the Kickstarter was whether or not planes and such nowadays still carry these pin-up designs on them in the military? I know it was certainly a thing during World War II and such but no idea if the trend continues today.
Either way you're getting some neat miniatures to paint up and it would be grand to see them done in gaudy cartoon colours to make them stand out.

Great line from Apocalypse Now, when Colonel Kurtz laments: “We train our young men to drop fire on people, but we… Read more »
Ah thanks for the insight – I can certainly see why it probably isn’t an appropriate thing anymore.
Thanks, @brennon. There are some great “coffee table” books just for the topic of World War II nose art, with large, glossy pictures, photos, reproductions, and the like. But I’m serious, they sometimes come wrapped in plastic and you have to be 18 to buy them, if you know what I mean. 🙂 Those guys had great imaginations and there were some (ahem) talented artists in those squadrons! These minis are awesome, I definitely like the Army Ranger one. If only the movie “Tank Girl” had taken an angle like this, instead of … well … never mind (depressed now).
Tank Girl 🙁
Apologies, @manpug, for having brought up that memory. I should have known better. Awesome avatar, is that a plush Cthulu?
Are they sponsored by Playboy?
