Grim Ulrick & Shaan’Hya Arrive On The Anakron Webstore
May 7, 2018 by brennon
Anakron Miniatures has added two new characters to their webstore recently. The first of these is the grim, dour and downright angry looking Captain Ulrick.
The models are always presented in resin and this one stands at 35mm in scale. I love the previously mentioned character to the model. He's just grimly looking ahead, drawing his sword to cut down some interloper who has strayed beyond the line in his city.
You could imagine this model becoming part of a larger diorama perhaps. Build a gatehouse and walls around him and surround his feet with mud and you've got a vigilant watchman who is stopping someone from entering the town. The model feels very Warhammer Fantasy in that sense.
Exotic Killer
Beyond Captain Ulrick here we also have Shaan'Hya who looks like she might be a Druid or Ranger character.
Once again, she's 35mm in scale and looks like she has is striding through the far reaches of her forest on the trail of someone, or something. I'm not sure what it is about the model but I'm not as drawn to it as I am with Ulrick. I think it's something about the perhaps too delicate looking bow or the posing, but it doesn't quite sit right with me.
Again, whilst she would most certainly fit into a range of different games out there on the market I think that she's the kind of model you'd include within a diorama. Build up the rural look to her base and introduce more of the wilderness into the mix and you'd have a graceful hunter and killer.
What do you think of the two new models?
