Grenzer Games Give Better Look At New 15mm Plastic Romans
July 2, 2018 by brennon
Grenzer Games has shown off some more images of their 15mm Plastic Imperial Romans over on their Facebook page. This gives you a much more detailed look at some of the models that you'll be seeing as part of the upcoming Kickstarter campaign.
This is the set of models as it stands. You can see that they have a lot of detail worked into them across the armour. Yes, that fellow on the right does have a bit of a bendy sword but I think as some of the first test models for the range, these are going to stand up very nicely.
The Legate here looks fantastic, and I like that you're actually able to see some facial features on the character. The move to this plastic is somewhat like what we saw with Battlefront and Flames Of War where we get to skip over the rather weird 'big head' syndrome that a lot of the models had.
The Cornicen suffers from a little loss of detail up around the top of the model, but I think that's due to trying to get fur to look right on a smaller sculpt. Otherwise, the model is just as good as the others and really shows off what they can do with the Command element of the force as well as the basic infantry.
Talking of the standard infantry, we have a closer image of one of them for you down below too with a Legionary armed with Gladius...
...and they also have plans to produce soldiers with the Pilum which was used to great effect during Roman battles.
What do you think of the new models from Grenzer Games now you've got a closer look at them with better quality photos?

They look nice. They would need to be priced at a much cheaper price than what’s already out there in metal before I would consider plastic
Fabulous details for the scale of the figure’s
The amount of detail is second to none!
15mm is too small for me to really enjoy painting but here I’m really tempted to get some and try.
Not keen on the bendy sword tho ?
15mm plastics of such quality ? Count me in !
Bendy plastic? I’m not a fan myself.
They look good considering its only 15mm, but that sword does need thinking about. The spear looks good at the angle shown though.
They look like a fair amount of clean up has been done to remove support material from these, especially on the shields. Are these masters for moulding in plastic resin or are they going to 3d print them all?
At some stage in life I do want to have a good at Romans and its the one thing where scale doesn’t worry me much. So this is a bit of an interesting surprise. Will have to see what the actual Kickstarter is like.
