Take Part In The Great Wargaming Survey 2020
August 4, 2020 by brennon
Wargames, Soldiers & Strategy Magazine has launched this year's Great Wargaming Survey which will run until August 31st.
Take The Great Wargaming Survey Here
This is the annual look at the state of the wargaming world and what you as hobbyists think about it right now. Over the years, this survey has allowed them to dive in and get a good look at the current demographic for our hobby and where our eyes are wandering when it comes to genres and the like.
It will be interesting to see what COVID-19 has done to the survey this year and if people have shifted to painting and hobbying more or tried their hand at something like solo wargaming for a chance. Taking part in the survey could also net you some prizes...
"Thanks to our gracious sponsors, we've got a bunch of prizes to give away to some lucky winners and everyone gets a 20% discount coupon and a bunch of WSS articles, free of charge, upon completion."
The survey takes around fifteen minutes to complete so if you've got a bit of spare time today then it might be worth giving this a look.
Have you taken the survey yet?

yes
Had the email other day all sorted and happy to take part
Done. That was more complicated than it needed to be.
The pop psychology questions make it look more like a scientology questionnaire.
Ah, psychology, one of the great sciences that isn’t really a science.
Except when it came to CoVid. Interesting articles about perceived risk assessment for rare events, and why Americans don’t wear masks.
Looking forward to lying about my hobby spending again this year!
Ha! Yes.
“Do you intend to spend less on wargaming?” – my mind says yes my poor impulse control laughs scornfully.
Ahhh yes, the truth about compulsive spending on the Shiny will never be admitted except in anonymity.
I could try to lie but the shelves and drawers always out me for the uber nerd I am
Is it the “wife-budget” or the true budget they want ?
done an dusted.
Completed to the best of my ability. I’m curious now as to what kind of research results will come out of this. Will it be compared to things like Meyers-Briggs and Enneagram tests?
People still use Meyers-Briggs these days? I though that had been so widely debunked that even the most credulous HR manager would not bother with it.
Loged and done
Done and another year of reinforcing my spending self delusions 🙂
As the recruitment videos would say “I did my part, have you done yours?”
I’ve done it every year now. This is the last time if they don’t share results.
Done – always happy to complete the survey as data collection, especially over time, is a really useful tool for anyone trying to understand the hobby. For those who are interested they do share some data and some analysis although you have to dig through the WSS blog to find it:
