Have Your Say On The Great Wargaming Survey
July 2, 2014 by brennon
Wargames Soldier & Strategy have put together The Great Wargaming Survey which hopes to pull together and interesting set of data on us as tabletop gamers and more. Head on over and take part and you could also be in with winning a few bits and pieces too!
The results of the survey are going to appear in a future issue of the magazine and it takes about five to ten minutes to complete. I think everyone enjoys a little survey now and then to waste a few minutes...
"At the end of this survey, you'll have the chance to enter your email address into a raffle for some very nice prizes, such as the SAGA Great Hall from 4Ground, a 1000-point Bolt Action army offered by Warlord Games, pirates from NorthStar, books from Osprey and Casemate as well as three 2-year subscriptions to either Ancient Warfare, Medieval Warfare or Wargames, Soldiers & Strategy! Moreover, as a thank-you for taking part in this survey, everyone will get a discount coupon for use on the Karwansaray Publishers website and can be used to purchase any of our books and magazines."
The survey will run throughout all of July!
Did mine yesterday. Early interesting tidbit, the average age of respondents is 39. Which makes me Mr Average!
So in essence, we’re all just kids in large bodies 🙂
Not for long, thanks to the BOW Fitclub.
Did it yesterday as well, sadly there was nothing I really need with the discount code offered
Never mine the average age – what is the average waist size? 🙂
Probably equal to the age! 🙂
Sadly, I think I exceed the average on both counts. 😐
ok filled it in, wasn’t a massive fan of the wording of one of the questions (hell yea! no way! etc) but over all it seems ok
Never heard of this magazine here.
Same here. Who wants outdated books and magazines when it’s all at our fingertips through the likes of BoW, facebook and websites of the businesses we buy from.
Some such business even provide a free monthly magazine digitally. Be it fan made or other.
I want “outdated” magazines. I have a digital subscription to WSS, and to the publisher’s other two magazines (Ancient Warfare and Medieval Warfare). I also have one to Miniature Wargaming.
I like my magazines, always nice to see new scenario ideas and reviews etc
And me. My outdated magazine arrived today and it was a joy.
There’s little chance of me wininng anything, let alone this raffle but there’s no chance at all if I don’t enter! 1000pt Bolt Action army sound right up my street.
While I’m a bit ol’ fashioned in that I don’t believe a publication really exists until it’s printed on paper and bound with a cover (preferably with leather and gold leaf print), I do appreciate the way the Internet has encouraged traditional periodicals to diversify. I would never fork over the cash for a regular subscription (so little cash and so many books and minis to buy with it) but online articles and podcasts are a wealth of history and gaming information. I don’t begrudge publications like Ancient Warfare and Wargames, Soldiers & Strategy their digital output. Just don’t expect… Read more »
The digital subscriptions work really well for me. I get the magazines for a touch over £2 per issue, they arrive well before they hit the newsstands, and they don’t clutter up my house. I would never get another physical magazine outside of something to read on a journey. Even then, if/when I get a tablet I won’t do that anymore either.
I do prefer the paper versions…just doesnt feel right reading the digital versions sitting on the loo
Here here. A tablet will never serve as substitute TP in a crisis.
The survey link seems to be dead at the moment.
This is last year’s survey. Here’s this year’s – https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HJP9GDW
