Grand Age Of Sigmar Season Of War Campaign – July 14th!
June 12, 2016 by brennon
Games Workshop's Age of Sigmar will be getting a new Grand Campaign called the Season of War coming on July 14th.
So, what's the low down on the story here...
"This summer, the four Grand Alliances wrestle for control of Ghyran. Armies march, cities rise and the Realm of Life will be changed forever – and you can decide how.
Your battles will affect the outcome, and be enshrined forever in the history of the Mortal Realms. We'll be announcing more details as the day approaches."
This sounds like it could be rather awesome and I look forward to getting int it. If we're going to the Realm of Life then that means Wood Elves and maybe...just maybe...Beastmen?
Will you be giving this a go?

it will be interesting if one of the races they are/were? trying to kill of wins a large part of territory?
nice artwork there!
No one cares. They should just release 9th ed. of WFB.
Well, a lot of people do care – there is a growing and thriving Age of Sigmar community out there playing massive tournaments and generally enjoying the game.
With the change coming this Summer as they add points values and more for the game I can see it being more enticing for folks.
While I’m with a lot of people on missing the Old World – I can still get my fix for it with my 8th Edition book and I’m happy to get games in of AoS too.
I’m looking forward to seeing where things go with AoS 🙂
The fact is Age of Sigmar is here to stay @teurastaja. It has a growing community who enjoy it a great deal, a group I number myself amongst, and as @Brennon notes the forthcoming release of the General’s Compendium is likely to only add to its success. That said, I also like the classic Old Hammer style of game play, but happily that is still available if you look for it. Might I suggest checking out a project called 9th Age? It essentially amounts to a continuation of the classic Old Hammer game system, with appropriate changes to unit, character… Read more »
So they looked at Infinity & Operation Flamestrike as presented by Beasts of War and thought : we can do that too ?
If you’re going to steal, steal from the best
Words to live by @redben… 😉
glad Brennon your enjoying aos but the main issue I have with it is plain and simple its a poor game can think of several fantasy skirmish games that are sooo much better.Pionts is certainly a good idea to give the game balance but this will only do so much its the core rules or lack of where the real issue with this game lays.the best example I could give would be aos or hordes both fantasy skirmish games which scale up both have nice models both have good background but only hordes has a solid fleshed out ruleset.and until… Read more »
Age of Sigmar is still gestating @darren2961, and has a way to go before it is fully established as a game system and fictional world, but even so a lot of people enjoy the game, the game world, and the models being released for it. You don’t like it and that is fine, but I think it fairer to say that it is simply not the kind of game you are looking for, rather than trying to cast it as objectively poor. As for the fans, it is not the GW diehards who are being drawn to AoS for the… Read more »
