Grab Your Rifles For Warlord’s Pike & Shotte Preview
March 16, 2018 by dracs
Warlord has provided us with a quick glimpse of some new miniatures marching their way into Pike & Shotte.
For riflemen, these troops look especially flamboyant, sporting puffed sleeves and plumed hats. The battles of Pike & Shotte may be a bloody business, but these soldiers see no reason not to look their best.
So far, Warlord hasn't said what manner of soldiers they are, but as the picture shows they should provide the perfect painting challenge.
Can you take a guess about who these are?

Would work for Warhammer Empire troops as well
Look like 1500’s German Landsnechts. Definitely not 30 Years War 1600’s +. Did Swiss also look these guys?
It looks like the plastic Landsknechts they bought off another company last year. The name escapes me at present
The hey day would be late 15th to middle 16th century
Yes you could use them for swiss if you wanted though pikemen would be more common
Pro Gloria was the company I was thinking f
Sorry for being that guy, but those aren’t rifles. These guys are arquebusiers. Even though straight rifling has been dated to around the late 16th century (with the original intent of helping to expel fouling from the barrel) these chaps are undoubtedly wielding smooth bore weapons.
That said, they do look good though.
Thank you for being that guy, it means I’m not that guy :p
I am guessing it’s the Swiss.. they already have plenty of landsknechts, including arquebusiers.
