Games Workshop are bringing one of the most iconic characters in the Warhammer canon back to the tabletop in Age Of Sigmar. Gotrek Gurnisson has stepped forth from a Realm Gate to start hacking his way through the Mortal Realms seeking a good death!

Gotrek #1 - Games Workshop

Gotrek is shown here clambering atop a mound of dead Skaven which he has recently carved his way through. He has snagged himself a Fyreslayer axe by the name of Zangrom-Thraz and is out to make his foes pay dearly. Maybe somewhere out there he'll find the soul of his good friend Felix Jaeger?

Gotrek #2 - Games Workshop

I like that they have managed to keep a lot of what makes the original character of Gotrek so iconic. He has kept the neat blue trousers and traditional 'slayer' look without going too far down the route of the Fyreslayers. However, he seems to have got back one of his eyes in the process.

If you're interested in finding out more about Gotrek then you can follow along with the new Age Of Sigmar lore in both Realmslayer and Ghoulslayer. The first of these is an audio drama (now available in script form) and the second is the next book in the series.

Gotrek Gurnisson Books - Games Workshop

Realmslayer features the voice of Brian Blessed as the iconic slayer (seems like a damn good choice for the voice!) whilst Ghoulslayer has Gotrek racing off to try and confront Nagash himself alongside a new and unlikely ally.

It will be neat to see how this all plays out for Gotrek and what secrets will be revealed to him as he explores the Mortal Realms. Plus, hopefully, you'll find a use for Gotrek in your Order armies as a force of nature!

Will you be snapping up the new books or the new model?
