Footsore Miniatures & Games are now taking pre-orders for the new edition of Gangs Of Rome. The 28mm Ancient wargame will have a full release at Salute this month but right now, you can get your hands on a Starter Bundle which will get you going in the game.
Gangs Of Rome Starter Bundle // Footsore Miniatures & Games
A big part of the Starter Bundle is the brand new rulebook which you'll need to play the game. The Core Rules provide you with everything you need to get started including the rules for two beginner gangs and three starter scenarios which will help you dive into the flow of the game.
There are also Advanced Rules which include ways to create your own fighters, different fighter types, night fighting, Romes Most Wanted, the option for including Vigiles, a full scenario builder plus equipment rules and abilities.

There are also full Campaign Rules which allow you to explore the development of your gangs. This includes random events that can occur, rules for injuries plus territory control. You can play campaigns of Gangs Of Rome with a definitive end goal or you can explore endless play where you've got free reign to maybe even aim for the highest echelons of power.
Gangs Of Rome is a nice twist on the traditionally large-scale Ancient wargame. Instead of fighting on the fields of battle, you are instead scuffling in the streets of Rome as part of the gritty underbelly of society. If you're someone who likes this style of game, it could be great to explore a campaign set against a different backdrop, developing your own story.
As well as the Rulebook, you also get the hefty Accessories Set which provides you with plenty of miniatures, tokens and more.
Citizens Of Rome // Footsore Miniatures & Games
The Citizens Of Rome set comes with five plastic frames totalling thirty figures. This allows you to make three full mobs and two gangs of five fighters each. A perfect way to get started! These plastic miniatures have come from the excellent folks at Wargames Atlantic.

The set also comes with a piece of terrain to get you started when building your tabletop. The Roman Villa Of Gallan The Greek comes from the folks at Sarissa Precision and is an MDF kit.

A nice backdrop for some skullduggery. I imagine that Gallan might have something that both gangs want and it could well be time to start clobbering and burning. Capping things off you also get all of the accessories you need to start playing your games of Gangs Of Rome.
You get all the bases for the miniatures mentioned above, seven Roman numeral dice, seven damage dice, a range ruler, four objective markers, twenty activation tokens and ten stress markers.
I think if you've been tempted to pick up Gangs Of Rome, this could be a perfect starting point. Snap this up and a bit more terrain and away you go!
Will you be scooping this up?

These Romans not only go the house, they come with the house!
This accessory set has me strongly tempted.
The Third Servile War edges closer to my table. The multi-part Roman civilians are an absolute blessing for this conflict.
It’s a shame that Footsore never did follow through with expanding Mortal Gods properly to the Roman Republic as they had planned. It’s the only expansion I looked forward too and it just never happened.
I can see some conversion potential in those plastics, I look forward to see some pics of the sprue.
