Bloody Miniatures has previewed a new set of 28mm figures coming out for their English Civil War range. There will be more coming but we've first been treated to The Gentlemen Of Warre who will lead the way in their regiments.

The Gentlemen Of Warre - Bloody Miniatures

The Gentlemen Of Warre // Bloody Miniatures

The set acts as a command pack for the twenty figure Regiment Of Foote that Bloody Miniatures has in their collection. You get an Officer, Sergeant, Ensign and Boy Drummer (guaranteed to be the first to be shot). The figures come with open hand so you can stick whatever weapons you like into their hands.

The set does come with a sprue with three weapons on it though, a partisan, halberd and flagstaff. So, you should be sorted when it comes to getting the appropriate weapons onto these soldiers. Pikemen and Musketeers are going to be coming over the next few days ahead of a release in February.

Update: The Pikemen have since popped up over on social media. There are two options for you to choose from The Upright Pikemen and The Attacking Pikemen.

The Upright Pikemen - Bloody Miniatures

This should allow you to make a good block of Pikemen in different poses. Some will have their pikes lifted to the skies whilst others can have them lowered to engage the enemy. It will turn your regiment into a pleasing hedgehog of spikes.

The Attacking Pikemen - Bloody Miniatures

The miniature packs will come without pikes so you decide how you want to arm your soldiers. But, Bloody Miniatures will also be working on some pikes of their own which you can fit into their hands should you so desire. They will be 85mm pikes made from a hard, lead-free alloy which should keep them rigid once they have been cut from the sprue and put in place.

The Pikemen themselves are armoured and unarmoured across both sides and there are also plenty of variants when it comes to helmets. This should allow you to make a rather splendid regiment on the tabletop.

We also got to see the addition of the Musket-wielding soldiers for this new range of releases this week.

The sets are split between those reloading and getting ready to fire as well as those in the moment of shooting their guns. This means that, once again, you can create some awesome-looking regiments with plenty of dynamism in them. I think these will be very nice for doing slightly more skirmish-based affairs too where you're fighting in the depths of a town or city.

Do you like the look of these new English Civil War miniatures?
