The new General's Handbook is packed full of options for those building up new armies for use in Age Of Sigmar. Content-wise you'll find a massive amount of Battleplans which are great for your Matched Play experiences plus loads of options for Narrative Play and Open Play too. You'll also find some additional and refined rules for playing in teams too, handy options for when you're looking to set up tournaments and events with friends and fellow wargamers.

One of the key elements they have thrown into the mix is this tweaked Alliance Matrix which allows you to tinker with the idea of making armies which don't just feature the miniatures from your primary collection. The state of the Mortal Realms is always in flux and there is no reason that some armies shouldn't join forces to take on a larger foe if required.

I have to say, Skies Of Slaughter sounds like it could be a lot of fun and something a little different from your typical games. This certainly shows the depth and wealth of options available to people diving into Age Of Sigmar right now.
It is also very cool that you get to make your own heroes using a character creator. As well as making rules, this should make diving into your bitz box pretty fun as well as you craft your own hero who will be leading your forces into battle.
Are you going to be picking these up?

To answer your question: No.
I’m getting sick of badly written rules, point changes and options that you will never be allowed using. I switched back to Warhammer Fantasy 8th edition, and I’m the happiest.
No FAQ, Erratas or ‘updates’ that invalidates the models you paid for anymore.
The matrix chart is good for new player’s to see which allies they can add to their force’s the air battles sounds interesting.
‘Creating your own hero’ sounds a lot like how Warhammer used to play.
The real trouble with it was that the options were seldom equal, so each unique hero would basically play the same as all the other ones.
One can hope that they’ve made the newer options a little more balanced, but I wouldn’t count on it from GW (who historically include some way overpriced options just to say that there are options).
