GCT Studios Bring An Agile Fox & Deadly Demon To Bushido
March 7, 2015 by brennon
GCT Studios have added some rather awesome looking miniatures to their range of previews for Bushido and they couldn't be more different. See what you think of both Kyuubi & Yama Uba...
"Unlike the female Kitsune the males of this mysterious and seclusive yokai race cannot shapeshift and instead keep the form of an anthropomorphic fox. Kyuubi is a skilled warrior and hunter of those his people feel are to blame for the current imbalance in Jwar. He serves a swift and decisive punishment to those Shisai and Shugenja abusing the spirits for their own ends. Waiting silently in the cover of the foliage before striking like a vengeful spirit against the enemies of the Temple."
"The Yama Uba is demon from an age long forgotten, the centre of many a cautionary tale, a true horror and thing of nightmare. This shape shifting fiend is a terrifying foe, able to steal the abilities and form of any it touches, many a victim had no idea of their fate until the clicking and slicing sounds, of barbed claws piercing their soft flesh, reached their ears. Even when its true form is revealed the yokai of deceit and deception can vanish at will, a ghost in the dark, before emerging moments later to strike with deadly precision and speed. "
Both of these miniatures are pretty epic looking and even though I do find that demon lady disturbing I can see how cool it might be to make her look a lot more disgusting with some slime effects and such. My favourite of the two though is Kyuubi who looks amazing in terms of his detail AND the motion of the miniature is awesome too - a great way to build on the concept art.
What do you make of these two?

Those are really nice and Kyuubi has really dynamic pose as well.
That Kyuubi guy is great. I don’t play the game but I might pick him up just for painting.
Was thinking the same
Kitsune are cool and this is a lovely little sculpt
Man, that Kyuubi would be perfect conversion basis for one of my players who is playing a thief of the Russet Hound in the Slaine RPG I am running. Great minis!
I was a little unimpressed by some of their sculpts the last two or three waves but it looks like GCT has gotten back on track. I should really think about getting back into this game.
