Gather The American Militia Together From Wargames Factory
August 25, 2014 by brennon
Wargames Factory have shown off a few more preview pictures of their War of Independence American Militia that will be coming to your tabletop in early September...
These do look like an awesome kit and as is standard with the kits from Wargames Factory they do certainly have plenty of options. The actual sculpting has come on leaps and bounds and the kit is decidedly better than the Dark Age one they started with a few years ago now. I think the poses are spot on and they don't look stilted or weird.
If you're looking for a good War of Independence range I think Wargames Factory could become a good first stop for a mass of plastics.
Will you be joining the Militia?
They look really good
They are also well painted to show the lack of uniformity in their ranks.
Very nice. Wargames Factory has come a long way since the days of oven-mitt hands and clunky poses.
heheee!! War of 1812 here we come!
You’d love the song War of 1812 by Arrogant Worms 😉
http://wargameterrain.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/wargames-factory-plastic-american-war_27.html dates from a couple of months back but couple of nice pictures of the sprues Only gripe I have with what is otherwise a cracking little kit is with the arms – they all seem to be equipped with Kentucky long-rifles (or similar hunting weapons) and they seem to be moulded in such a way as to make it a tad tricky to convert Perfect for frontiersmen but it looks like converting some of those fab deer-skin coat wearing rebels into 1812 rifleman (was going to use spare baker rifles) is going to be an uphill struggle… shame after… Read more »
I think those sorts of conversions are what make the hobby such a joy. When finished, your force will be unique and your mods something to rightly be proud of. If you think of it in that context, Wargames Factory has provided you with some wonderful 1812 raw material :-).
indeed! couple of headswaps, some Napoleonic British infantry in stovepipes with some of the lace cut off, French dragoons, and an adequate paint job and I’m all set for the Bladensburg races!
Mind you, the militia are perfect for Seven Years War too…
And with all the extra arms and heads you get you can recreate the powder magazine explosion at York :-).
hahaha, love it!
hadn’t thought of that XD
After seeing these I’m really tempted to get into the AWI period at a skirmish level..
