Gangs Of Rome Hits Kickstarter With New Updated Edition
March 16, 2023 by brennon
Footsore Miniatures & Games alongside Warhost have hit up Kickstarter with their latest campaign. Heading back to Ancient Rome, Gangs Of Rome puts you in the 28mm sandals of criminals and politicians (aren't they the same?) who are vying for control of the streets of the city; by any means necessary.
Gangs Of Rome Kickstarter // Footsore Miniatures & Games
The focus of this campaign is to create version two of the original rulebook which streamlines and updates the first set of rules whilst also bulking it out with additional core, advanced and campaign rules. You'll also be able to get your hands on a new set of double-sided, full-colour printed MDF Tokens for use with the game AND give yourself a chance to dive in and play Gangs Of Rome if you've never done so before.
New Rulebook // Gangs Of Rome
All of the current miniatures range is compatible with the new rules but the Kickstarter is also helping to bulk that out with more miniatures unlocked via stretch goals. All of those miniatures will be deployed as part of gangs, hired by the elite of Rome in order to do their bidding with the promise of wealth, glory and perhaps a place in the higher echelons of society.

With that in mind, you'll be diving into one-off and campaign-based games where you stalk through alleyways, burn down temples and shops, erect monuments to please those with more standing than yourself and maybe get stuck into a bit of backstabbing for good measure.
When it comes down to it, you have a vision for Rome and everyone else is just standing in your way.
Get Started In Gangs Of Rome
The new Kickstarter offers up a good way for you to begin your journey in Gangs Of Rome.
Gangs Of Rome - Beginner Set // Footsore Miniatures & Games
The Beginners Set comes with the new Rulebook, Tokens and such but you then also get a set of eight Gang Fighters and a selection of Mob Bases which can be used for you to dive into gameplay. There are some pretty fun mechanics in Gangs Of Rome where you can blend into the crowd and sneak about as you get ready to stab your enemy in the back!
If you're interested in how the game plays and want to get a foot in the door when it comes to mechanics, check out the video from Footsore below...

From there, you just need to head on over to the Kickstarter Page and see what else they have planned! There are, of course, options for those who already have miniatures in their collection and you have all of those Stretch Goals to look forward to as well.
It's great to see Gangs Of Rome back and with such fanfare!

I’m very inclined to pick this up, especially with the Paul Hicks minis. Does anyone know of he scuplted the existing range?
Steve Saleh (he of the Lucid Eye) sculpted the original fighters, while Paul Hicks did the civilians/mobs/specials.
Backed it as my first ever kickstarter. Already fed up with the amount of emails I’ve been sent about it
When you pledge your cash, every update they post on the project automagically sends you an email with that update. I think it’s a setting you can turn off (Settings -> Notifications tab)
Wait until you back a CMON project and you get like a dozen emails in half-a-day, lol.
Just the upgrade pack and some of the new figures for me so far
Damn the need to make car payments! This looks so good.
