Gangfight Tease Upcoming Fantasy Skirmish Game
January 29, 2016 by brennon
Gangfight Games have got plans for their Fantasy Skirmish Game this year. The idea is that the game will allow you to use any miniatures you like and will also come with a range of sourcebooks for various game worlds. They also showed off some impressive artwork from Jonathan Peace...
First up we have a pair of artwork pieces for the Orcs in their Fantasy world. Above we have the Shaman who has a rather superb looking staff and the Warrior with his battered blade. I really like the art style here which has a dab of cartoon in with the realism.
As well as the foes you might face we also have some heroes which get you in the mood for some scuffles on the tabletop. Here we have the Dwarf Fighter, Human Fighter and Halfling Rogue...
As I mentioned above the artwork is wonderful here and starts to paint a great picture of the kind of world they are trying to create. I hope that there is a big focus on there being role-play type party combat versus warbands of monsters. The Halfling is a rather charming addition to this range of artwork which is otherwise very 'combat' focused.
Will you be keeping an eye out for what's coming from Gangfight in the future?

the Halfling reminds me of shaggy?
Now that you mention it…
Please, Gangfight Games, get that halfling a hungry dog buddy!
So yet another one of these? In the description so far I can’t see any unique selling point.
Well skirmish games seem to be on the up. I quite like the idea of mixing and matching worlds/lore into something unique. Could be a real hoot.
For once I am at an agreement with a negative here doceon is quite right there has to be more than pretty pictures and nice minis there has to be a hook. Something beyond cartoon Orcs etc these have been done to death, surely there is more to the artistic challenges than repeating figures. I am looking forwards to the largest Games show in the north at York Racecourse next weekend on Sunday, but I have a feeling although I am looking for something for my really hard saved coin (our weekly shopping bill has been cut to below £30… Read more »
Thanks for sharing, BOW! Just to clarify, the fantasy book is being written by Jonathan Peace. The art above was done by Wayne O’Connor. I do think the halfling could have a pet 🙂 The idea here is to make a series of gameworld books all using the same core rules, kind of like GURPS did for Role Playing, but for small-model-count skirmish battles. We are not planning to make any fantasy miniatures at this time, we want players to feel free to mix and match and use their favorite minis from any other game or company they want to… Read more »
