Games Workshop Previews Twisted New Maloghurst Miniature from Forge World
April 19, 2021 by fcostin
There has been a really exciting preview this weekend, and it is the brand new miniature for The Horus Heresy, welcoming Maloghurst the Twisted. The infamous equerry to Horus is finally making its way over to Forge World soon, wielding a mighty banner of the Sons of Horus.
Maloghurst the Twisted // Games Workshop
"Maloghurst was a veteran legionary that served the Luna Wolves and Sons of Horus throughout numerous campaigns during the Great Crusade, earning the nickname ‘Twisted’ due to his formidable mind. The title took on a cruel double meaning when enemy forces shot down his transport during the pacification of planet 63-19, and he was left badly injured.* Afterwards, Horus sent a communique to the entire Legion banning the usage of unkind nicknames.
When the heresy kicked off, Maloghurst proved himself to be one of the Warmaster’s closest confidants. While his injuries meant that he could no longer fulfil the role of frontline warrior, he was awarded the honour of carrying Horus’ personal icon."
Book II - Massacre // Horus Heresy
Want to get a closer look at Maloghust? You can find his rules along with more background, story and lore in Horus Heresy Book 2 - Massacre. So as soon as the model is out and released, you can get his boots on the table and straight into some savage action.
Sadly, there is no date determining when this miniature will be released, only a "soon" waypoint.
To keep you going, why not get your Reapers at the ready for now? To prepare your troops for the incoming arrival of Maloghust.

I might be tempted to get him!
Still mean to get some of the other HH character models – Garro and Saul Travitz as well.
My those early HH books were decent, shame they descended into a lot of drawn out nonsense after that!
Which also reminds me I must look out for the next Siege book even through the previous ones have been incredibly poor!
I’m glad the range is coming slowly back to life, and glad that Mal’s not too 40k.
Here I’m mostly thinking of the two Word Bearer models, which had me wondering if the range was going to move into a more 40k Chaos aesthetic, or just the Word Bearers as they’re further down the path to damnation.
That one looks really good.
A nice bannerman for the Hungary Horus legion.
Horus banned unkind nicknames!? Brilliant. Nearly brought humanity to its knees, but wouldn’t stand for bullying. You have to have standards.
Very nice. I hope the rumors are true and GW will move the Heresy more into the spotlight again. There was a time when the Heresy was the most exciting thing GW did, but somehow the wagon was steered into the mud.
Didn’t the person writting the big books die and that’s what caused the problems?
The sad passing of Alan Bligh must have had a significant impact as he was the driving force behind the system as well as the writer.
I would really like the rumors of a 2 player plastic Heresy starter set to be true.
