Frostgrave Expansion Fundraiser Set For September 25th
September 9, 2015 by brennon
North Star and Osprey's Frostgrave is getting its next fundraising project on September 25th 2015 according to social media. Keep your eyes out for the new campaign book and a bunch of new models including this dangerous spellcaster...
Now that is an awesome looking model. Some have postulated that this might be the first look at an Elf character within the game and that means more fantasy races for Frostgrave. They do exist in the world at present but the first book was very concentrated on the human kingdoms and its denizens.
Will you be pre-ordering?

Can’t wait for this as I am really enjoying Frostgrave at the moment.
If anyone is interested the game designer posted on Beasts of War a few days ago with a Charity scenario. Here is the link to the forumhttp://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/fantasy-gamer-town-square/forum/topic/frostgrave-charity-scenario/#post-131501 .
If they offer a lot of good books and stuff at a great price I might jump into the game. If not… I’ll hold off.
I am a little disappointed if it ends up with the usual suspects, elves, orcs, etc that look like the usual suspects it will take a little off the lustre, by all means have them but not the usual run out archetypal models that could be from any game in fantasy. Don’t get me wrong I am all for using what you want if need be and budgets dictate. Please though lets not go down the long faced tall skinny latte vegan roll model that every one and their mothers mother does.
I’m liking the mini, and am a fan of all things Tolkienesque, so not an issue for me, and if they do follow those tropes, that just means the mini’s will be good for other games as well 🙂 .
in a nutshell, can somebody explain frostgrave to me? I have been seeing a lot about ti popping up all over the net, and it seems to be rather popular… I gather it’s a fantasy game setting basically allowing you to build warbands from your own collections of minis…
what does it play like? one off skirmish games? campaign? does it play like an rpg?

There is a great review of it here by @sumchien

Thanks!! I’ll give that a read!
That looks really good.
I saw a response from the guy at Northstar or the designer (can’t recall) somewhere that said that wizard is not an elf.
I’m looking forward to the Nickstarter!
Lich Wizard. Glad I’m limiting my backing off Kickstarters… Nickstarters is a completely different matter! 🙂
