Osprey Games has now released the new quick, fun miniatures game by Michael Whelan called FREAKZ! Mutant Murder Machines. Designed to get you playing quickly with whatever you have in your collection, FREAKZ! looks like it could be a lot of fun.
FREAKZ! // Osprey Games
FREAKZ! has you generating a full squad of mutants by drawing from a standard deck of playing cards. Equally, the miniatures that make up your gang can come from anything you have in your collection that fits your theme or you could kitbash your zany set of mutants. The book also comes with standees in the back of the book which you can print off and use for your first games.

FREAKZ! can be played in single one-off games but you can also play as part of a campaign. During campaigns, your mutants evolve and change as they pursue hallowed Artefactz and draw on the power of their fallen enemies. Pledge your allegiance to the Atomic Godz and conquer your foes!

FREAKZ! Battle Report
I quite like the matched dice roll for determining if you hit or miss your opponent. It means that the opposing player is involved in fighting from moment to moment and making use of the alternating activation inherent in the rules. Equally, moving from terrain piece to terrain piece across packed boards means that you'll have to think a bit more about the dynamics of gameplay rather than working out every inch.

FREAKZ! seems like a good way for you to absolutely raid your bitz box and start making interesting miniatures. A lot of the Stargrave sets would be great for getting started in this game and you could throw in plenty of the Wargames Atlantic sets for good measure.
Could you be in the market for a quick, fun Post-Apocalyptic mutant showdown?

No party in Hollywood needed.
Makes me think that I should dip into some of this at the FLGS to get random games in.
