Forest Dragon’s Despoilers Arrive From Printing In Detail

Printing In Detail has been working on more of the miniatures sculpted by Forest Dragon. This month they have the start of the Despoilers army for those interested in playing Fantasy wargames in 10mm.
Despoilers Dark Lord With Sword // Printing In Detail
Much like with the rest of their range, these are incredibly high detailed 3D prints based on the STL Files by Forest Dragon. There are a couple of core options for those looking to start an army of Despoilers with two Dark Lords leading the way. The first simply comes with a sword and shield in hand. The second comes with a terrifying demonic beast.

That terrible beast is going to be let off the leash soon enough I'd guess. I imagine that he isn't particularly loyal to his master but would happily savage everyone who comes near. You could even fluff things so that the warrior Dark Lord and his beast are a "levelled up" version of the other miniature.
As well as the Dark Lord, we also have a unit that you can snap up as well. The core of your force, these Heavy Infantry miniatures, come with a variety of different banner options so you can mix and match amongst your force.
Despoilers Heavy Infantry // Printing In Detail
These are some fantastic looking miniatures I think you'll agree. There is soooo much detail baked into each of the models by Forest Dragon and the prints have come out nicely. It would be a pleasure to paint these up. A good drybrush and some washes and you'd be able to get an army ready in no time.
Despoilers Heavy Infantry Alt // Printing In Detail
My fingers are crossed that we're going to be seeing more of these Despoilers in the next few months. It would be great to see them get some monstrous infantry and plenty of mutated warriors too. There is an array of 10mm Dark Norse from Mace Face Miniatures if you do want to expand your 10mm with some Marauders.
Are you tempted to start a new 10mm Despoilers army for your Fantasy wargames?

Too much Good Stuff ?
So small yet so evil and good….
I’m always tempted by anything 10mm
Ooh Epic Medi evil figures.
Those look really good.
For 10mm these are really nice. I’ve printed a few Forest Dragon regiments myself on a first gen. Photon and the results are still superb. It’s a final nail in the coffin for all those grognards who insist physical sculpting (especially at this scale) is “better”. I’ve 10mm lumps of lead lead which look little better than plasticine sausages, but just look at the detail on these bad boys – amazing!
I think it depends I’ve seen 10mm 3d prints that look like lumps of resin and hand sculpted stuff which is amazing. Plenty of very talented people out there no matter which type of sculpting being done
I’ve never yet seen hand-sculpted 10mm minis that look “amazing”. At best, I’ve had “passable”. I’ve spent probably hundreds of pounds over the years on 10mm (and 15mm) minis and many were simply awful (shovel hands, faces little more than a child-like “smiley” etc). I’ve given most of them away after concluding even the best ones were never going to look anything better than “ok” – I’d be skeptical of anyone claiming hand-sculpted minis could look as nice as these 3d printed ones; if there’s a single example of anyone hitting this kind of standard, I’d be really happy to… Read more »
I’m very fond of Pendrakens AWI and Late Roman ranges and think there excellent figures. The figures produced by the 3d sculptors like Forest Dragon are lovely figures but if you don’t have a 3D printer they are expensive and at the moment most of these designers are limited to fantasy
At the end of the day you go down the route that suits you best and find the best figures you want to use at a budget you can afford
