Footsore Miniatures’ New Saxon Warlord & Huscarls Previewed
September 26, 2019 by brennon
Footsore Miniatures & Games has been showing off some previews of new Saxons who are going to be hitting the tabletop soon. First up we have a new Warlord & Bannerman who will be leading the way for your defenders of the British Isles.
I really like the look of these fellows, especially the Warlord here. He looks like a dashing hero who is watching the battle unfold and planning his next move. There is a lot of detail poured into these models too from the accessories strapped to their belt to the rings adorning his hand. You're going to have a lot of fun painting that hair and beard too!
We also have some more Huscarls who are going to be the stalwart defenders of your Warlord on the tabletop.
Here you can see a pair of warriors who will be armed with spears. Each of them is getting ready to either defend or strike at their opponent. Once again there is a lot of detail worked into these sculpts which is really key for those looking to make the Huscarls and Warlord the focal point of your force.
We also have these warriors with their mighty Dane Axes.
I do love myself a Dane Axe. I love the imagery of them and the brutish warrior smashing his way through a shield wall and sending men scattering. You could create some pretty amazing dioramas and such based around Fulford, Stamford Bridge, and Hastings. It seems like we're coming towards that time of year where we might even end up talking about the Hastings here on the site.
As well as the cool new models Andy Hobday also mentioned in an off-hand comment that they are working on a Dark Age game too!
What do you think of the new models?

They look nice
Lovely! I didn’t preorder the Huscarls when they were first shown but I’ll add these to my Gripping Beast Saxons, as they are too lovely not to get – Mr Bickley has done an outstanding job on these!
Love them !
How is the casting quality with footsore ?
I only have a couple of items but it’s pretty good.
Mortal Gods would work equally well as a Dark Age game as it does as an Ancient Greek k game
they look fabulous.
A boy can never have enough toys
Love these guys!
I’m thinking the warlord would make a great addition to my Frostgrave barbarians!
Awesome. So full of character. A welcome addition to my WoE barbarians
Impressive details
