Footsore Miniatures are on a mission to bleed wallets dry with another amazing looking 28mm Historical Kickstarter campaign. They are once again working with the supremely talented Matthew Bickley on a set of miniatures for The Welsh that could be used for the Dark Age, Early Medieval and Late Medieval periods.

The Welsh Commander - Footsore Miniatures

These miniatures are going to be coming to Kickstarter in Late August and will give you all of the troops you'll need to include them in the likes of SAGA or perhaps The Barons' War at the other end of the spectrum.

The focal point of their idea seems to be to provide you with the core troops for The Welsh that should suit all manner of different periods then use the Generals and other leader figures to help cement your force within a particular time period.

The Welsh Heathguard - Footsore Miniatures

It should be noted that the range is particularly extensive already. Bickley has been very, very busy it seems and created a collection of stunning miniatures that would look resplendent in any collection. I really like how he is able to capture so much character in their facial expressions and make each of them feel like an individual warrior rather than just part of the masses.

There will be a variety of pledge levels that will get you in at different stages I would guess as well as a bit of pick and mix. I am also intrigued to see what the folks at Footsore do when it comes to stretch goals and the like too.

The Welsh Archers - Footsore Miniatures

The Welsh Archers // Footsore Miniatures

We've seen Footsore do a lot for the Norse-Gaels, Irish, Picts and Scots in the past but this is one of the first times that we're seeing them fully explore the Welsh during these periods of history. They match up quite nicely with the warring state of the British Isles throughout the Dark Age and into the Medieval as petty kings fought for control of what land they could see from their castles.

What do you make of these previews?
