Footsore Miniatures Preview First Gangs Of Rome Character
October 9, 2017 by brennon
Footsore Miniatures has been previewing more about their new game, Gangs Of Rome, and the latest nugget of information over on Facebook revealed their first model.
The model was sculpted by Steve Saleh and then painted up here by Darren Linington. It shows off a rather gruff looking fellow who has no doubt been down a few dangerous alleyways on the streets of Rome.
Props have to go to the basing of the model as well with that very nice looking cobblestone pattern. The game, as the name suggests, will be based on you forming gangs and fighting over the city for control.
They also want there to be a focus on your gang members being good from the very beginning rather than starting off as fledging lackeys fighting their way up through the ranks.
What do you think of the model?

How cool is this!
I’m loving the idea of Footsore producing their own game. I especially like that they’re not resting on their laurels (pun very much intended) and just producing a game that uses their already existing ranges, but instead pushes on into a completely new era.
From the talk of different gangs, trained in different ways and how you assemble your fighters it should be a dream come true for many among us… @suetoniuspaullinus I’m looking at you 😉
I’m fairly certain this is a new range of models.
yes it is
The setting is utterly cool. All the decadet drama and petty struggle for naught, it’s the classical folly, the tragic flipside of ancient greatness.
Have you read about the game mechanics, gang composition and their approach to only unique fighters (stats and abilities wise)?
I don’t exactely know what to make of these. While the general idea seems interesting to me, the randomness is leaving me with a slightly unsettled impression. I’d really like to see some examples and gain more insight into how the cards are being generated.
Et tu?
Alright I’m excited for this and that sculpt looks fantastic.
really looking forward to this, always been a massive fan of Rome, so I’m looking forward to fielding the likes of Cotter, Ascerbo or Memio, Pullo and Mascius, oh and Vorenus be cool. Top stuff 🙂
I can’t wait for this.
An ancient Rome version of Necromunda would be great.
Imagine the terrain! Temple, plaza, docks 🙂
I think I heard somewhere that Footsore are attending the Warlord Birthday bash (14th to 15th of October) at their HQ and will be “supporting their new game”. Could be wrong, but we might see some more info come about during the event (aren’t BoW attending as well?).
yea I spoke to Ben about paying them a visit a week ago when they started teasing this. So hopefully they’ll have more to show off. The game system itself is really intriguing as well
@avernos it’d be great if you could find out stuff about this and communicate that! Especially the game mechanics and details on the random stats / abilities (e.g. are there certain rules/ parametres to secure balance and prevent very weak or stupid results?).
