Footsore Show Off Saxon Archers & Slingers For Dark Age Games
November 29, 2019 by brennon
Footsore Miniatures & Games has been showing off a few more of the new releases coming out for the Late Saxons in 2020 alongside some rules for a Dark Age game too!
Kicking things off we have this trio of slingers who are doing their best to hold off the attacks of rival warlords even without shields, spears and armour. I love the motion that Matthew Bickley has managed to work into these models giving you the impression of them in the midst of battle. The hooded cowl on the right-hand figure is rather spectacular!
As well as these Slingers there's also the set of three Archers who are going to be ranging the flanks looking to take down their foes in ambushes. Once again, I love the sculpting style that we're seeing here and I think they'd be fantastic to add into the mix for skirmishing warbands.
I particularly like the fellow in the centre with the hood high up over his head, shrouding him from view. He is a fantastic model with oodles of character built into his design. I love archers in games, especially in a skirmishing format and I really want to snag these models for a bit of warband wargaming on the tabletop.
I also can't wait to see what Footsore and Andy Hobday have in store for us with their Dark Age rules coming in 2020!

Ooh nice.
These should be used to cure impotence, my goodness, if they don’t give you a hobby boner, you are probably dead inside!
I didn’t have a need for anymore archers 5 minutes ago. I now find i have an urgent need for more
Fortunately this is easy to justify as they will just go with the butt load of late Saxons I’ve already got. Never seen a slinger model with sling extended as the Rock was thrown. Nice touch!
