Footsore Back To The Grindstone With New Saxon Archers
December 23, 2014 by brennon
Footsore Miniatures are back to the grindstone when it comes to sculpting and they're currently working on a range of Late Saxon Archers that you can use with your Dark Age wargaming. See what you think of them so far...
There will be twelve different figures in total and each of them will have a different bow plug allowing you to swap things around and add some variety to your units as well. I like the cowled figures, a rather awesome look, and hopefully we'll all have some cool Welsh Bowmen joining the ranks of the Anglo-Saxon and Anglo-Dane armies for games like SAGA.
Footsore have announced that these should be available around mid-January.
What do you think?

I’ll probably pick these up especially as they come in a handy pack of 12. I don’t take levy normally but they would be good as sacrificial troops when fighting Joms Vikings.
Can the jomsvikings take levies? I thought I read they couldn’t.
No they can only take Hearthguard and Warriors. You use levy as sacrificial troops when fighting against them. Instead of giving them wrath you kill 3 of your levy each turn. Without wrath Joms are far less dangerous.
no but you need Levies to feed the Joms
beaten to it 😉

Crisp clean looking sculpts, these chaps may be up for joining my own Saxon/DA/KoM forces. Oh I do like nice versatile historicals-Lots of uses for these 🙂
